even at a young age, castiel novak didn't get to have what other boys had. christmas had vanished from his memory, and in its place were scalpels, needles, and experiments. castiel had darkness and loneliness. the scientists couldn't figure out what was wrong with him, or why he could do what no one was meant to do. experiment after experiment was performed, just to find out what made him tick. he was only a kid. and any hope he'd had was snuffed out by medical gloves. that is, until the right hands find him. strong, calloused hands that take him away from all the pain. he hides in the shadows, taking castiel into the darkness with him. but little does castiel know, that would be his way to the light.
