And in that moment, the world stopped.

I looked at him and my insides melted away into a puddle of things I might've accomplished.

But I was falling

fast

and my brain knew it,

so he ordered my heart to think

but my heart was hypnotized

oblivious to the world

outside of him

trapped in a spiral of giddy thoughts and fluttery feelings

so he couldn't

and he didn't

and I was falling

fast

My brain was in panic

He knew I would hurt myself

He knew I would land hard

and I'd be broken

so my brain gave one last command,

and I caught myself.
