And in that moment, the world stopped.
I looked at him and my insides melted away into a puddle of things I might've accomplished.
But I was falling
fast
and my brain knew it,
so he ordered my heart to think
but my heart was hypnotized
oblivious to the world
outside of him
trapped in a spiral of giddy thoughts and fluttery feelings
so he couldn't
and he didn't
and I was falling
fast
My brain was in panic
He knew I would hurt myself
He knew I would land hard
and I'd be broken
so my brain gave one last command,
and I caught myself.
