It was implied by Shizu in the first volume of LN that there were more than one writing system in the world where she had been summoned into. In the 1st volume: "...the workers there taught me arithmetic, as well as several different writing systems."
What was shown in both anime and manga, however, was only one particular writing system. Perhaps, it was the anime's and manga's way to show us that this writing system was the most widespread across the Cardinal World.

P.S. the font I used to type the sample text was made by myself. The glyphs were taken from Tensura, obviously, but the font itself was hand-made. Yes, made by my hand. By my mouse, to be exact.
