After Y/n stormed out, Eren ran after her in a panic, Carla stood there with a worried expression plastered on her face as she watched Y/n run of crying.

''I didn't mean to make her cry....can't you talk some sense into them Honey....those two are only kids and wanting to join the Scout Legion is too dangerous'' Carla tried to explain to Grisha

''Carla....listen to me....I know you only want the best for them....so do I....but their minds are already set on going outside the walls....as with Y/n, to her it still feels like she is trapped, even after escaping from that hell she grew up in, these walls are like a double cage for her'' Grisha sighed as he explain to Carla

''She wants freedom more than anything....and so does Eren....'' Grisha added

''Those two are stubborn when it comes to wanting freedom from these walls'' Grisha chuckled, causing Carla to stare at him

''Don't laugh about it....they're still kids at the end of the day...they don't understand the reality of things yet....I don't want to lose them....'' Carla sighed as she sat down on the chair and covered her face with her hand

''What makes you think we'll lose them...those two are the strongest kids I've ever seen...they know their way around....those two will definitely protect each other'' Grisha smiled as he placed his hand on her shoulder and gave it a small squeeze.

*Sigh*

''Well....you're right about those two being strong....but...'' Carla voice trailed off as she stared ahead

''They're going to be fine Carla...besides once those two make up their mind, they will not budge from it'' Grisha stated as he looked at her

With Eren and Y/n,

Y/n ran through the streets all the way to the meadow where they usually hang out, warm tears flowing down her face as she held her racing heart. When she made to the meadow, she walked over to the big tree and sat down on the grass. Eren caught up and ran over to her and wrapped his arms around her body tightly.

''Stop crying Y/n...come on'' Eren gently rubbed her back

''We know what you've been through okay....mum knows that very well....'' Eren started to explain

''Mum just is worried for us that's all'' Eren smiled as he pulled her out of the hug and wiped her tears

''I know that Eren....I'm not saying I want to leave my home and never return....I don't mean it like that....I don't know how to explain it'' Y/n ruffled her hair in frustration

''You know, I didn't tell you everything that had happened when you found me in that condition....'' Y/n spoke up now as she stared ahead, this caught Eren's attention now

''What do you mean....'' Eren asked as he looked at Y/n

''You see, living with that family, I've never gotten to see what was outside....I would always be trapped in a dark room....all that room had was two small windows but they were so high so I could never see what was on the other side...''

''I was suffocating in that room, as days passed I seemed to me that room was getting smaller and smaller, trapping me even more''

''....you have no idea how badly I wanted to see what it looked like outside Eren.... I could hear children's voices outside, laughing and having fun....'' more tears flowing down her face

''And one day the person accidentally left the door open, so I took that chance to escape....and that was the first time I saw what was outside, the first time the warm sun hit my body, it felt like a huge weight had been removed off my shoulder....it felt so unreal that I didn't even know if I really was outside or whether it was just in my mind...''

''Then my eyes caught onto the massive wall surrounding all the houses....once again even though I got to see daylight....I was still trapped''

''For me seeing the outside world is more than a dream Eren....I want to be free..''

''But....who knows what's going to happen....that's why it pisses me off seeing people slack off and be ignorant about the outside world, when there are people who have never even seen daylight....''

''I never said I wanted to leave my family....I just...'' Y/n's voice trailed off as she closed her eyes letting the warm tears flow down her face.

Eren was listening to Y/n with wide eyes, the pain was clearly evident in Y/n's voice, but Eren was not expecting that from her, he never knew things were that bad for Y/n, for someone to not even be able to see daylight....how much would they want to free. Eren immediately pulled Y/n into a tight hug, gently rubbing her back trying to calm her down. He gritted his teeth as warm tears flowed down his face.

''I'm glad you told me Y/n....'' Eren spoke up as he gently rocked Y/n side to side

''Just know I will always be by your side no matter what...you'll never be alone okay....Eren will always protect Y/n no matter what'' Eren smiled as he wiped his tears and slowly pulled out of the hug

''You've been suffering this whole time....you should have told us from the start....'' Eren asked worriedly as he gently wiped Y/n's tears

''I don't know....I was still trying to wrap things around my head back then...cuz it felt unreal....so I just kept it to myself'' Y/n frowned as she looked down

''But....I'm glad I told you....I feel light now....and I have someone who shares the same desire as me'' Y/n smiled as she wrapped her arms around Eren, causing him to do some immediately too

''Your reason is far more important that mine Y/n....your condition...the atmosphere you were living in makes my desire seem like nothing compared to yours'' Eren giggled as he gently stroked Y/n's hair

''Hmm, no, I don't think so, we both have the same level of desire....and I mean it Eren....'' Y/n smiled as she got out the hug and poked his cheeks

''If Mikasa was here...she would've beaten us up'' Eren giggled, causing Y/n to smile

''Well....you're a good fighter too, sooooo....maybe you could hold out with Mikasa in a fight'' Eren put his finger on his chin as he was in thought

''Well....I ain't that good'' Y/n giggled as she shook her head

''No...you are.....Mikasa told me, on the day you and Mikasa got left behind in the cabin, you told her to ''fight'', she said that her strength in fighting comes from you....Mikasa's words were ''Y/n is my inspiration'' Eren smiled warmly as he patted Y/n's head

''Hehh~ She said that?'' Y/n nervously chuckled as she scratched the back of her neck

''Yep! and you're my strength too Y/n....you have always been strong in my eyes.....you survived all this time so that makes you strong'' Eren added as he pulled Y/n into a hug

''Arigato....I just need my family with me, along with Mikasa and Armin and I am happy'' Y/n smiled warmly as she snuggled into Eren causing him to giggle

''We will always be with you...'' Eren stated as he looked at the sky

''Come on, let's go home...''
