Normally, toys just sat around while children played with them, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Toys had their own little secrets which nobody except those who truly believe in the magic of toys knew, because the toys knew that if they revealed it, there would be major consequences, which is why they kept their rules right from the moment of their creation
The toys were secretly alive
A few seconds after Andy left, woody blinks and looks to the door as buzz gets off of him and helps him up
Buzz: you alright sheriff?
Woody: yeah, I'm fine buzz
Buzz: so how are we gonna tell them?
Woody: trust me, I got it under control. Okay, everyone. Coast is clear.
Woody and buzz watch as various other toys in the room come to life, including Mr. Potato Head
Mr Potato Head: Ages 3 and up. It's on my box. Ages 3 and up. I'm not supposed to be babysitting Princess Drool.
The toys bustle about whilst they walk and talk. Hamm the Piggy bank is putting his coins back into his slot. Mr Potato Head comes with his parts all mixed up

he walks off
Mr Potato Head: You uncultured swine! What're you lookin' at, ya hockey puck?
He walks off, leaving the hockey puck with arms and legs confused
Buzz looks to a box of green army men as the Sargent come sour
Buzz: sarge have you seen slinky?
Woody: OK. Hey, thank you. At ease.
Buzz and dopey jump down from the bed and look around
Woody: Hey, uh, Slinky?
Slinky, a dog with a slink between his head and back appears, pushing a checker board with red and black disks
Slinky: Right here, Woody. I'm red this time. Woody: No. Slink.....
Slinky: Oh, well, all right. You can be red if you want.
Woody: N-Not now, Slink, we got some news
Slinky: what kind of news?
Buzz: we'll explain later, let's just get everyone ready for a staff meeting
Slinky: okay
Buzz and slinky walk away as woody goes the other way
