-Kat's POV-

I woke up the morning after the Alpha Grey situation to the sounds of my pack's laughter coming from down the hall. I stood and walked to the dining room and saw a beautiful sight. My entire pack sitting around the table with breakfast already made and served with everyone laughing and having a good time. I leaned against the door frame that connected the kitchen and the dining room with my arms crossed over my chest and watched my pack with a small smile on my face.

I felt someone come up behind me and wrap their arms around my waist and place their head on my shoulder. I immediately knew that it was Luke because he has always hugged me from behind like this since we were pups. I leaned back against his chest and sighed happily, still watching the pack.

"It's great huh?" He whispered in my ear.

I nodded, still watching my pack.

"MOMMY!" I heard two small voices shout and saw Will and Lily run towards me with big smiles on their faces.

I grinned at them as they launched themselves into my arms. I rested Will on my left hip and Lily on my right as Luke untangled himself from me enough so that only one of his arms were around my waist.

Luke tightened his arm around me as we heard a low deep growl that stopped all conversation from my pack. I turned my head slightly and saw a very angry Alpha Grey glaring at Luke, the twins, and I.

I felt the twins hide their faces in my neck and start shaking, especially my little Lily-Flower. Annoyed, I glared right back at him as my low growl shook the house. He looked shocked before he quickly regained his composure and asked if we, him and I, could talk alone.

I nodded and passed the twins to Luke before nodding to my pack and following Alpha Grey to his office. On the way there I held my head high and knew that an air of confidence and authority had surrounded me as we walked. We soon reached his office and he let me in first. I sat on a chair and watched as he sat at his desk.

He ran a hand through his hair before he spoke, "Katalaya, I love you. Please take me back and then we can raise your kids together like true mates. We could start a family of our own. Your pack could live here and join mine. We could be together. I could keep you safe, I could keep your kids safe. I could make you happy and could make that male from your pack stay away from you."

I stood there shocked as I took in his words. At first it was kinda sweet until he implied that I couldn't protect myself, my children, or my pack. Then he said those things about Luke.

My wolf growled in my mind. She hates Jace with every fiber of her being.

'After that scumbag rejected us, the moon goddess cut all of our ties to him and connected them to someone else. We have a second chance mate out there somewhere.' My wolf said in my head.

I sat there still stunned but it was broken by a pair of lips on mine.

I quickly shoved Jace off and wiped off my lips with the back of my hand.

"Jace, we aren't mates anymore. The moon goddess cut our ties." I told him.

"So that's why I didn't feel any sparks?" He asked.

I nodded.

He blew out a breath and apologized before he left the room.

I stood there a minute before I too left. On my way downstairs I smelt the most heavenly scent in the world. It smelled like the forest and roasting marshmallows, two of my favorite things. I quickly followed the scent, knowing it was my second chance mate, as my wolf howled in my head.

'Why didn't we recognize him before though?' I asked my wolf.

'Because the moon goddess cut the ties last night as we slept as she saw that we could never be with Jace.' My wolf said in my mind.

I smiled at that. The moon goddess really was looking out for all of us.

Anyway, I continued looking for my new mate with no doubt in my mind that Jace was already looking for his. I rounded a corner, still following the scent, when I ran into someone.

I felt sparks and looked up to see....
