Remember, September
Hey, it's Hannah!
You're probably tired of hearing this but like what I always say, the installments for this series won't have their sequels. (No book 2.) I'm not sure about special chapters pero safe na sigurong sabihin na wala na pong special chapters para sa YLS.
While writing this, I couldn't help but remember Zarin from the Bad Girls Series. Parang pwedeng lumipat sa series na 'yon si September.
This story, still, is my way of trying to explore my style in writing. I'm also trying to adjust to creating character personalities---which is why I think this is what I highlighted here.
I personally liked writing Hiram Nicholas's personality because he's slightly different from most of my male characters. Mas playful kasi s'ya at chill. (Although I don't know if it's easy to tell the difference.) Although his feelings for September are written a lot like how I write it with my other male protagonists, Hiram is less intense with how he expresses them. I hope that made sense.
I really feel happy with this series not only because it has been receiving a lot of appreciation from you (which I didn't expect) but because I also get to learn more about myself as a writer.
I personally got a lot of realizations from the Epilogue despite it being the shortest part of this story. Na-realize ko na, like September, most of us think that life is exhausting. I think the same way too. But like what September said, there are a lot of things we can look at that can make things a lot better for us.
Friends are important. I'm not saying that all friends make life better. (We need to choose our friends. Relationships can make life harder too especially when broken.) But as people, or humans, companionship is a large factor in our lives.
And so, after realizing that, I feel really grateful for the friends God has given me. If not for them, who knows? Maybe I wouldn't be here, writing this note. Maybe I wouldn't be overthinkingpen who writes light comfort stories. Maybe, I wouldn't be the Hannah I am today.
Let's choose good friends. Let's be good people so we can be good friends too. And hopefully, like how we needed a good companion, we can be that person to other people too. Who knows? Maybe you can be used as an instrument to someone---to inspire and motivate them. To somehow, in our little way, make life a little more bearable.
Anyway, I hope you got something out of Remember, September. 💛
