A/N: Sorry that this chapter is coming out so late. I've been trying to start it, but Wattpad has been acting up on my end. Sorry about that! Chapters may be coming out a bit later from here on out, though. I'm having to start them on my phone, and I type like a grandma on my phone.

As soon as you landed in one of the bushes outside of your window (which Michael had gently shoved you out of), you looked back up, a look of shock on your face. But, there was no Michael. Michael had pulled an Eric Draven, meaning he had walked against the wind and no one had seen him leave. But, somehow, he did leave.

After you got over your shock of being pushed out a window, you got up and simply left. You climbed out of the bush and followed the street signs until you made your way back home. It was a chilly night. You could see the stars, and some people already had some Halloween decorations up (mostly, just fake cobwebs and the occasional Jason Voorhees or Freddy Krueger blowup or window sticker). Some people even had out fake tarantulas. You knew Michael was watching you, because you had felt eyes on you ever since you stepped out of the bush. But, true to the Michael Myers fashion, you couldn't see him.

Well, you thought it was Michael.

When you were about a block away from home, you were pulled into some shrubbery.

"What in God's name are you doing? How did you get out?" Sam hissed.

"I should ask you the same thing!" You replied.

"You tell me what you're doing first!"

"I'm walking home because I broke out! Now, what are you doing?"

"I was going to break you out!"

"Well, then, why are we still arguing?"

"You tell me!"

The hushed argument between you and seem ceased when a paper airplane zoomed right between the two of you. You both watch it, and noticed that it had DR. LOOMIS written on it.

As Sam bent over to pick up the letter, you said to yourself, "Well, that ain't spooky at all."

Sam murmured some kind of agreement before unfolding the airplane. He cleared his throat and began to read it out loud.

"DR. LOOMIS,
YOU KNOW WHO THIS IS FROM. I BROKE Y/N'S WINDOW AND HOPED SHE GOT THE MESSAGE BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT BELONG IN THAT AWFUL PLACE. SHE WILL GO HOME TO HER FAMILY, AND SHE WILL NOT GO BACK. I WON'T HURT ANYONE IN THAT HOUSEHOLD (YOU INCLUDED) IF SHE GOES HOME AND DOES NOT GO TO ANY OTHER ASYLUM, INCLUDING SMITH'S GROVE."

You silently thanked Michael for everything that letter detailed. You were happy both you and your family (and Sam, of course) were safe, and that he had just insured that you weren't going back to any asylum of any kind. At least, this fall.

"Well, I guess now is where I take you the rest of the way home and think up something to tell your Aunt and Uncle." Sam sighed, stuffing the letter in the pocket of his trench coat.

"You went out for a walk because you couldn't sleep and you saw me wandering around. There." You came up with Sam's lie, and he gestured to his pocket.

"And the letter?"

"You found it on your windowsill. Easy."

Sam nodded and began to walk the rest of the way home. You followed close behind, and you no longer felt like you were being watched. You felt something different, though. Like and overwhelming feeling of dread. Like somebody was going to get hurt.

____________

By the time you and Sam got home, all lights in the house were on. You assumed (correctly) that Aunt A/N and Uncle U/N had woken up and seen that Sam was missing. However, when you walked in, tables were flipped.

"Why is she with you? Where were you? What are you doing with our niece?" Aunt A/N cried shrilly, running right up to Sam's face. She had a robe wrapped around her, and you weren't going to bother telling her that her slippers were on the wrong feet.

"I couldn't sleep, so I went out for a walk. I found her wandering around the streets, and Smith's Grove's phone is dead at night, so I figured that the safest thing for me to do was to take her home and call them in the morning." Sam recounted your lie, adding a little flourish of his own.

"How did you get out?" Aunt A/N turned to you.

"I woke up because I heard glass shatter, and my window was broken. I don't know how or why it broke, but I took my chance and left. I promise you, I'm sane! And it's safest for me to be here for now. Just trust me." You pulled your lie straight out of the air and hoped that it was believable. "And, anyways, you shouldn't be yelling at me. I should be yelling at you. You didn't write to me or come to visit me once. Do you know how alone I felt? How afraid I was without my family there?!" You began to shout, and Aunt A/N backed down and retreated back to the side of Uncle U/N.

"Okay, you know what? It's- we've all had a long night. Why don't we all just go back to bed and we'll discuss this in the morning, when everybody's calm and awake and rational, alright?" Uncle U/N suggested. He was never one for arguments.

"A perfect idea. Goodnight, everyone. I hope we can blow this over in the morning." Sam walked up the stairs, leaving the three of you alone in the kitchen.

Soon enough, Aunt A/N went up to bed after an intense staring competition between the two of you. She was closely followed by Uncle U/N, who never looked at you once.

That left you by yourself.

You really wished that the pit of fear in your stomach would leave, but your instincts were never wrong. You knew Michael was going to hurt somebody. And you knew that somebody was going to get hurt very, very soon.
