the username is one thing but another big thing is the name that is proudly displayed on your profile. it's also coincidentally in the biggest lettering. that itself should explain its significance.
something that is a trend among fanfic writers is to not use their real names. weird right? but like the username, we want our representative name to represent us.
this is kind of connected to the username but choose whatever you think will show yourself the best. that's what i love most about wattpad, you can choose to not go under your own name and choose another "secret identity" to go under.
for me, i chose to go under my korean name. in real life, i have another name to go by but on this app, i choose this name because it's what i think represents me the best for my writing.
think of it an alter ego, like a superhero. you have one name to go under in real life but on this platform, you can assume another title.
