This book is not your typical Pokemon fanfic. In fact, it is far from it in the best way possible. Taking the style of an fantasy epic, Fiery Lands and Stormy Seas takes elements from Eragon and blends it in with the Pokemon universe in a singular and sophisticated manner. The world is complex, riveting, and well-thought out. Here is the author's official description:
"In days long past, before Poke-balls, the Great families of the Hoenn region were to bond with Pokemon through their Spirits. What follows is history's account of the second Great War between bonded Humans and Pokemon, as tribes and kingdoms clash for supremacy over the region."
