"The three of who?" Sunburst asked, walking into the professor lounge. Trixie admired him for a moment taking in the brightness of his deep blue eyes, the messiness of his mane, the reflection of the way the light shone on his glasses. She wanted it all for herself. Then she spoke.
"The three of us! You, me, Starlight! At the museum! for the field trip!"
"Oh! Great!" Ignoring Trixie, he turned to Starlight. "Starlight, you're coming too?!" He smiled. Trixie glared.
"Heh--yeah." Starlight said, seemingly eyeing Trixie hesitantly. Well, it's no big deal if Sunburst doesn't seem to like the Great and Powerful Trixie. He's always poker face anyway.
Sunburst raised his eyebrows in the way that Trixie always noticed. "So--uh--how's--uh--how's your headmare work?"
Starlight paused for a moment, then answered. "It's hard work, but not too bad! Mainly just paperwork."
Trixie saw Sunburst blush a little before saying, "That's good."
"Yeah," Starlight responded, outwardly unsure. Did Sunburst have a crush on Starlight? How did Starlight feel about him? And most importantly, why did Trixie like Sunburst anyway?
