The Letter

She told me her truth

The reasons why

But I didn't see the tears

Behind her eyes

-

She told me her beliefs

The true meaning of life

But I didn't come across

It was based on her strife

-

She spoke to me of sadness

The emptiness she felt

But I figured it was nothing

With the years it'd melt

-

She told me she loved me

With her heart and soul

And when I said the same

She let it all go

-

She told me she needed me

By her side forever

Keeping her dream alive

To let her fade, never

-

I didn't know it would end this way

I simply forgot to call

I went home to find her

Lifeless on the floor

-

The note beside her bed

was written out to me

It's been two years since

God give me serenity

-

I can't bear to open it

and read what's inside

I fear I might lose my mind

my feelings I can't hide

-

I prayed a prayer for her

May God rest her soul

I sat down on my desk

and let the paper unfold

-

Darling, I love you,

I always have and always will,

But there're things u don't understand

My mind won't stand still

-

I can't go on living this life,

I told you, it was no lie

You helped me out a lot though,

It's not your fault, please don't cry

-

My happiest moments were with you;

The joy we shared was true,

I experienced all love possible,

I nearly felt unstoppable

-

But now that you're away,

I realize I can't survive,

With or without you babe,

My emptiness resides

-

I can't go on faking a smile;

Sick of holding back the tears,

But the tears don't want to flow,

So I'll leave my earthly fears

-

Can't live knowing I'm holding you back,

from a better life alone,

I won't force you to live my past,

And I can't seem to let it go

-

I'm sorry for what you're going through,

You're resilient, you'll be fine.

These are my last words on earth,

I'm sorry I've wasted your time
