We all decided to just hang out and watch movies.

"What movie do you guys want to watch?" I asked as I turned on the TV.

"Harry Potter!" Oscar yells much louder than he needed to. He actually didn't even need to yell. We were all standing within a two-foot radius.

"Oscar has an obsession with all things Harry Potter," Omar explained, "so when he gets the chance, he will watch the movies." I couldn't help but laugh.

"I've never seen Harry Potter or read the books," I truthfully say.

"Then you haven't lived!" Oscar shouted as he found 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' for us to watch.

After about fifteen minutes of the movie, I paused it. "I have to ask quickly; why do people call Voldemort 'You-Know-Who'? Why not just say his name?"

"Because people are too scared of him to say his name," Oscar quickly explained before resuming the movie. I never asked another question because I didn't have any others. The Voldemort/'You-Know-Who' thing was the only thing that confused me.

The next morning, I woke up earlier than I wanted to on a Saturday so I decided to go downstairs and make myself pancakes. I looked at the clock on the oven as it read 12:37pm. It took me ten minutes to exit my bedroom, walk down the stairs, and walk to the kitchen. Daily workout accomplished!

In total, I ate six out of twelve giant pancakes that I made. When I brought my plate to the dishwasher, Amy came into the kitchen all changed and ready with a gigantic smile on her face.

“And where are you going young lady?” I imitated an upset parent while I crossed my arms.

“Oscar asked me out! We’re going on a ‘day-date’ so I’ll be back later. Sorry I’m leaving you alone,” Amy’s smile faded.

“It’s okay. I’ll just walk around and explore, maybe go to the mall and shop around.”

“Okay, have fun. I’m leaving now,” Amy shouted as she walked out the front door.

I took my time to get ready because I didn’t have any set plans. I’ll just walk around, find the mall, and hopefully not get lost. When I left the house it was 1:15pm.

I ended up walking around, completely lost, for about twenty minutes. I was about to scream from all the people when I saw two girls, about my age, walking towards me and laughing.

I awkwardly walked towards them.

“Hey, sorry to bother but, I’m lost. Are you from here or at least know the area?” I awkwardly ask.

“Yeah, we’re from here. Where are you trying to go?” the one asks. She had long, brown hair and brown eyes and was really pretty. She could be a model.

“I’m not from here at all and I’m trying to find the mall but I have no idea where I am.”

“We were actually just about to head there ourselves. Do you want to shop with us?” the other girl asks politely. She had brown eyes also but her hair was shorter; she was also really pretty. Why is it that everyone in LA could be models?

“That’d be great, thanks,” I smiled.

“Oh, by the way,” the girl with long hair spoke, “I’m Amber and this is Daisy.”

“Nice to meet you both,” I smiled again as we started walking towards what I assume is the mall, “I’m Mady.”

**

We spent several hours shopping and getting to know each other. It’s great to have more than one friend, that’s not the boys, in LA. We were about to head home but we stopped at Starbucks first.

We ordered our favourite drinks and of course we were louder than everyone else because of our laughter. In the middle of our conversation I got two text messages; one from Amy, one from OG.

Amy: Hey, Oscar just dropped me off, where are you?

Mady: At Starbucks with some new friends I met today

Amy: Oh okay, I’ll see you when you get back then :)

Mady: Yup see you later :)

After saying ‘bye’ to Amy, I looked at OG’s text.

OG: Hey, what are you doing tonight?

Mady: Nothing, why?

OG: Wanna come over and hang out? Just you and me? If not, that’s okay too

Mady: Yeah, sure, when?

OG: I’ll pick you up around 8?

I looked at the time on my phone; 6:30pm.

Mady: Okay :) see you at 8 ;)

OG: See you at 8 :)

I put my phone back in my purse as I stood up.

“I have to go now, sorry guys,” I apologized.

“It’s okay, text us tomorrow so we can hang out again and meet Amy,” Amber suggested. Of course I told them about my best friend.

“Okay, talk to you tomorrow. See you guys later,” and I started walking home. Luckily I didn’t get lost because the Starbucks is just a couple streets over from the house.

I walked in the door, ignored Amy’s ‘hello’ and went straight from my room to get ready. After changing and finished curling my hair around 7:30pm, there was a knock at the door.

“Hey, you got a date?” Amy asked.

“Yes- I mean no!” Amy raised her eyebrow, “I actually don’t know,” I sighed. “I’m hanging out with OG.”

“Does this ‘hanging out’ involve kissing him?” Amy asked, using air-quotes around hanging out.

“No, I like Felix. He asked me to hang out and I said yes; simple as that.”

“Whoa, calm down. I was just kidding,” Amy laughed at my reaction.

Before I could defend myself, the doorbell could be heard throughout the house.

“I’ll get it,” Amy said and walked out of my room.

I couldn’t help but make sure my makeup was perfect and my hair looked okay.

“Speak of the devil!” Amy shouted as I walked to the door.

We waved goodbye and climbed into OG’s car, “So, what do you want to do? Or did you have something planned for us to do?” I asked after buckling my seatbelt.

“I have something planned actually,” OG smiled. His smile is adorable!

“Will you tell me what it is?” I asked.

“Nope,” OG simply said.

“Pleaseeee?” I dragged out the ‘e’ at the end.

“Still not telling,” OG said in a sing-song voice.

“Fine,” I sighed and sat quietly the rest of the ride.
