Keeping it short and sweet. My writing prompt was *"Please." He said. "Please don't shoot me for this"*

"Please." He said. "Please don't shoot me for this."

My hand is shaking and clammy as I loosely hold my pistol up.

"Why should I let you walk away?"

"Because I can make things right. I put together a team that can find the cure." Ben steps closer in his excitement.  He steps back when I reinforce my grip on the gun. "You captured me before I could brief them. Or even show them the lab." I narrow my eyes at him.

"So,  because you found a few scientists you think you can cure the plague?"

"These aren't normal scientists, Claire." I flinch. Nobody used my name anymore.

"Ben, the plague has been infecting people for over fifty years."

"Trust me. Please." I bring my left hand up to steady my aim.

"The last time I trusted you my fiance ended up dead." Ben looked away.

"I know. I can't apologize enough for that. But with this team I can keep that from happening to someone else."

I'm silent for a moment. Chief calls for me on my earpiece. Ben is the enemy. He killed my fiance. I should kill him. Right? It's the right thing to do. Isn't it?

But what if his team is as good as Ben thinks? What if he can help find a cure? So many people have died from this plague.

"Can I meet your team? If you have such faith in these people I want to meet them."

"Y-yes, of course you can. But how will we get past your team?"

I think for a moment, then, without warning, I fire two shots into the wall directly next to Ben's head. I tap my ear piece.

"Target nuetralized. All is clear." I tap my earpiece again, turning the microphone off. "Meet me on the corner of fifth and main in three hours." Ben nods. "Oh, and one more thing. Make sure my team is gone before you leave the building. The last thing I need is a trial. Now, I need a dead body..."

So there's that. I'm not sure how I feel about that one. My suspense/action scenes need work, I think. Tell me what y'all thought! I would love some constructive criticism on this one!
