(Kaoru's pov)
I was leaving the restaurant with my men when a commotion by the door catches my attention.
"Kizaki whats going on?"
"Its just some rousy kid boss, nothing to concern you."
I nod, heading out the door to the car. I could hear more yelling and the crashing of glass as i opened the door. I had one foot in the car when my head snapped to the left.  A scream echoed through the room from a voice id never forget.
"daddy daddy! No daddy!" A child sobs "daddy!"
I glance up, my eyes catching the pink bear flashing through the legs of my men.
"Move along brat!"
"Keep walking!"
But this only makes her more upset "Daddy! Daddy dont leave me again!" She sobs falling onto the floor "daddy please!"
I felt my legs moving like they had done so long ago, my hands move, shoving anyone and everyone out of the way. Anyone that could touch her and scoop up the child under the arm and high into the air. It was like all the oxygen had been sucked from my lungs.
"Callie."
She looks at me sobbing loudly, arms stretched out like they had four years ago "daddy why did you leave us?" I pull her to my chest, moving her away from the group of men and inhale her scent, green apple like always and sigh "I'm sorry Callie, I'm so sorry."

*four years ago*

(Sophia's pov)
I blinked hearing the alarm clock and turn, staring at the sun shining on me through the open window. I was a person that could sleep all day so having the window cracked slightly open was a must.

I sigh, removing my hand from the warm blanket and feel along the window ledge till I find my iPhone. I pull the device towards me and push the snooze. After I actually shut off the alarm I turn on the radio, listening to the country music as i stretch.

I turn, taking in the tuff of brown curly hair and smile. I pull down the blanket, peppering kisses along her soft plump cheeks till i get to her ear "wake up baby," i hear her groan a little "time to get up monkey."

I look down at my one and a half year old sister and smile when her baby blue eyes flicker open. "Mama?"

"Yes baby?"

"love you."

I place a kiss on her head "I love you too."

I toss off the blanket, standing with another stretch and make my way into the bathroom. I wash the drool and sleep off my face and sigh into the towel. It was moments like this that I allowed myself to be sad. So much had changed in such a short time I wasn't sure where to look.

I hear a knock on the door and push it open with my foot "mama I need to pee."

I pull the potty seat out from under the counter and stick it in place before moving her her underwear-down her legs "Callie are you all dry?"

"Yes mama! I'm a big girl!"

Technically Callie was a little young to potty train but my sister was incredibly smart for her age, a trait she got from our mom.

When she pees in the toilet I kiss her cheeks "good girl Callie!"

Her bubbly laughter was one of the things that made my struggles worth it. Working late hours for my creepy boss, the gossip at school, being abandoned by all but one of my friends and having to redo one year of high school. Everything was worth it for her.

"Okay," I placed her on the floor "lets go make breakfast yeah?"

"Yeah!"
-
I poured the hot water into her oatmeal, mixing the gooey concoction together and grab my toast after it pops up. I follow the same routine every morning.
Wake up,
Get Callie up,
Eat breakfast,
Finish any homework and pack lunches.
Get ready for school,
Drop Callie off at Mrs. Wue's
Take the train to school.
