CHAPTER 5: ANBU MISSION AND THE UCHIHA
ITACHI POV
"I... I hoped that I could tell you this within different circumstances but...itachi-kun... I... I really like you! ever since we were 5" Izumi said with a light smile
"I hoped too that I could tell you this within different circumstances, and I'm happy that you are able to be honest with your feeling and confess these to me but sorry... I'm afraid I can't return such feelings..." I said bowing my head
"N-no... I- I understand itachi-kun..." I could hear the shakiness of her voice, I was about to walk away before she spoke again
"Because the rumors are true, isn't it?" She asked keeping her head low, she still forced herself to smile
"What rumors?" I asked
"That... the two prodigies... You and kasumi, the two of you are--"
"No... Whatever you think the reason may be I can assure you it's not like that, This has nothing to do with kasumi" I said before removing the hair out of her face revealing her crying face
"I'm sorry I just don't feel the same way" I said before lending her my umbrella
It was starting to rain anyways, she needs it more than me...
As the rain got heavier I stopped to a shop I had to take shelter, I can't just go home all wet, the uchiha compound is too far away from here mom is gonna get so worried and I can't just go home wet from the rain
"eh? Itachi?" I heard a familiar voice
"Kasumi" I said
"Stuck in the rain?" She asked as she approached me
"Yeah" I nod
"Here" She said lending me an umbrella
"No, I don't think we'll fit" I said declining her offer
"Pfft, what are you saying? I have an extra umbrella" She said
"Oh, Thank you I guess" I said thanking her but i noticed that this was the same umbrella I gave Izumi
looks like she went home without an umbrella
"How do you have two umbrellas?" I asked
"How do you not have an umbrella? It's rather... rare" She said focusing on the road
"where did you get a second umbrella?" I asked
"bumped into a girl and she just slammed the umbrella on my chest, jeez it hurt" She said rubbing her chest, during our whole conversation not once did she look at me
"Is something going on?" I asked her
"Yeah... There's this kid..."
"what about it?" I asked
"He was blonde and I found out that he's a jinchuriki" She said stopping in her tracks I also stopped
"The way that the other villagers looked at him... I recognize it so well, Those eyes full of hatred but he's about the same age as sasuke, he doesn't deserve to be treated that way!" She said, sadness evident of her eyes and her words
what a fool, Getting all sad with things that doesn't even involve her... she really likes to create trouble sometimes, Getting me and shisui worried most of times
But then again...
I guess that's what makes her... a genius
