In the dreaded past who knows what we left behind
They are the memories we tied to our old lives
When we speak our pointless words they rise from high above
It's from the hatred that we burned away our love
So you wipe your tears on your own and I cry each day all alone

All we ever searched for was someone to understand
All we ever wanted was that first glimpse of the land
When you wrote your letters they watched us from the skies
They'll bind us together until one of our souls dies
So you live your life on your own and I die each day all alone
It breaks us being apart; we have poisoned hearts
Our dreams they faded into scars that won't ever fade
We try to find our sunlight in the dark and frozen shade
Our rainstorms and thunder are losing their eerie charm
We search for anger in our seas of empty calm
