[alternatively titled "period three"]

Today I am sitting here,
in front of a computer
that is demanding I do math problems
(my chemistry teacher is absent)
but I am not doing them.
Why? Well, because
I happen to think that there are
more important things in life
than what-mass-of-ozone-
is-predicted-to-form-from-
the-reaction-of-2.0g-NO2-
in-a-car's-exhaust-and-
excess-oxygen-please-show-
all-of-your-work. No.
There are more important things
for me to focus on than that.
One of them is my mental health
and oh, oh dear Lord,
I would complete ten hundred
math problems if it meant
I'd never feel pain again.
But it doesn't work that way,
and answering ten hundred
questions about the mole ratios
in chemical reactions will cause
me no less amount of pain.
In fact, it will cause me more.
