-Grace's POV-

Gabby's funeral is in 3 days. My last performance with the boys is tonight. That means I don't have to be at the shows; they can find someone else to be the opening act. Luke still says that I can't go, but I think when the time comes, he'll take me to the airport himself.

I step out of the shower, with my towel wrapped tightly around me. I walk out of the bathroom, running into something as soon as I open the door. I start to lose the grip on my towel, but recover it just in time. I look up and see Calum staring down at me, eyes wide and cheeks red. He mumbles an apology and I awkwardly laugh, "It's fine. Don't worry about it."I start to side step Calum and, when I get passed him, he calls out my name. I turn around and raise my eyebrow at him, "Yeah?"

"Could we maybe, uh, go out before practice and, umm, talk." Calum stutters and I smile at him. I'm still standing in my towel, hair dripping, so I give him a small, embarrassed nod.

I walk into mine and Luke's shared bedroom and lock the door. I get dressed, jeans and a three-quarters sleeve shirt considering the weather is starting to turn. I blow dry and straighten my hair and walk into the living room. Calum is sitting there, dressed and ready to go.

"You look amazing." Calum tells me, causing me to blush.

"Thanks, umm, where are we going?"

"Well, I was gonna let you decide, actually." He looks down at me and I smile. He grabs my hand, something we've learned to do for the fans without feeling intimacy, and we walk out. I notice that he has something on his pinky and look down. The promise ring. I smile to myself and lead us to a Taco Bell, "Ugh, not this place again."

I laugh and we walk in. Calum orders for himself and then it's my turn. I order my usual and Calum pays for both of us, after some argument. We wait for the food, and then sit down at a table in the corner.

"So, what is this about?" I ask and take a bite of my soft taco.

"Well, after what you said yesterday, I was thinking. Maybe we could start over? I mean, we don't have to have a relationship again, but at least be friends."

"I'd like that." I say, biting my lip.

Calum gives me a goofy smile and starts laughing before he says, "Hey, pretty girl, what your name? What's your number?" I bust out laughing and we get a few glances.

"You know, any other girl would probably die If you said that to them. Your lucky I don't like you, or you might have had to been calling 911." I say and playfully punch his arm.

Calum laughs and we continue to make small talk. It was kind of awkward at first, but the more we talked, the more I thought that we could really start over.

We finish eating and throw away our trash. Calum grabs my hand and we walk out. When we don't make the turn it takes to get back to the bus, I hesitate and look at him. He tightens his grip and smiles at me, but doesn't say anything.

I allow him to continue leading me for a little bit, but then I stop, forcing him to as well, "I'm not going any farther until you tell me where your taking me."

"Surprise," he says and tries to start walking again. I drag my heels and he turns to me, "Please, I really want it to be a surprise. Just go along with it." He says and pouts, something I still can't say no to.

"Fine, as long as we are gonna be back in time for practice." He nods, so I continue the walk, turning when he turns.

Calum stops on the corner of a block and turns to me, "Put your hand over your eyes," there is a twinkle in his eye, and I smile at him.

"Why?"

"Just do it," he tells me and shut my eyes and place my hand over my eyes. He walks behind me and places his hands on my waist to guide me. I feel little tingles shoot up all through out my body and smile to myself. We walk a couple steps and then Calum tightens his grip on my waist -earning another round of tingling- signally for me to stop.

He places his hand over mine, yells, "Tada," and uncovers my eyes. I gasp.

Sorta of a filler chapter, sorta of a cliffhanger. I'm having such a hard time figuring out how I'm gonna end this. I had it all figured out, but then I messed something up in the storyline and I can't end it how I was going to. I guess we will just have to see what comes with time. Love you all💕
