Chapter II : Serendipitous

*alarm ring*

I closed it as always and what could I see, I haven't charged anything.
Man I hate sleeping without putting my phone and Laptop to charge.

I got up finished my daily routine and made my way to work.

*phone rings*

"Morning Mell, how are ya?" I said as I opened the phonecall.
"Hey Kate, sorry to bother but the guy from yesterday came to get the book. But I can't find it anywhere, where did you put it?" She said.
"Oh yeah the book, well funny story I had taken it unintentionally, maybe I took it for my notes. I don't know tbh." I replied as walking to work.
"Well he said he wants it right now, could you pass by and give it to him?" She asked.
"I'm sorry Mel, I can't right now. You are pretty far and I left it at home. Tell him to pass buy the coffe down my home at 7pm and I'll give it to him. Tell him I'm sorry got to go now lov ya."
"Kateee but-" she said but I hung up the phone as I entered the office.

Sorry Melanie I'll make it up to you another time. I said to myself.

"KATHERINE!!!" someone yelled.
Oh nonono shit shit shit.
It was my Boss, god damn it kate.

I turned my head as I saw my boss waving his hand, signaling me to go to his office.
I left my bag at my desk and went straight to him.
*sigh*
Why is he always there when I'm late damn it.

I knocked at the door.
"Come in Katherine, come in.." Nick said as I opened the door.

"Good morning Nick, how are you feeling today?" I asked with a faked smile.
"Well thank you for asking, until I saw you coming late, I was feeling good."
I pinched my tigh and kept my smile.
"I am very sorry, I had to finish something up. My cousine needed me to drop her kid at school, because she was sick..." I lied with a straight face.
I fucking hate lies so much that I suck at telling them.
"Well seems like your cousine gets sick very often." He replied with a dumb looking face.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm the only one around momentarily." I replied.

"Let's say this, if you are late one more time, than don't come to the office at all. Tell your cousine to be more healthy and problem solved." He said as he was writing down my name.

"For sure Nick, I will not repeat this again." I said while clenching my teeth.

"Now go and do your damn Job" he said while facing his PC and lighting a cigarette.

I got up and started mumbeling to myself his sentence, while making my way to my desk.

Ugh god I fucking hate this guy.
I've been working here for 2 years, I've never taken any days off and only been late twice. TWICE!!!
God damn it, I want to punch his face so damn bad.

On my fisrt months here, he was very nice. But only for the solemn reason of him liking me.
I am a very understanding person but very honest. I don't lie and when I see it I say things in all Honesty.
After I rejected him, he started being a pain in the ass.

I can't wait until the boss over his head gives me a raise, so I can get a position like him.
His boss Jimbo is the best person ever, kind, respectful and smart.
Just because Nick is his brother, we have to deal with this.

There is also our owner but in this two years I've never either met or seen him.
His a mysterious Man I can say.

I sat on my chair and started my Projects.
After some hours I eat my lauch and time was going by fast.

*7pm*

Oh snappp, it's 7pm already.
I got up fast closed everything and rushed my way home.

I got to the coffe and started looking for him.
Where is he? I asked myslef.
Ehh he probably won't come at all.
As I made my way out of the coffe a sweet voice called my name.
"Kate!"
I turned aroud, to see him standing on the corner of the Coffe.
My god, he was wearing a beige sweater and a tucked in black shirt.
With some black boots to add to that.

I slowly walked up to him.
"Hey Oser. I'm very sorry for this. I really had no time on the morning, I was late for work." I said as sitting down.

"It's fine, don't worry about it. Do you have the book?" He asked.
"Oh yeah for sure." I replied as I reached for my bag.
I took the book out and handed it to him.
"Sorry for what happened. I really could've sworen I left it on the reception desk. When I went home i found it on my bag, maybe I mistook it for my notes." I explained to him.
He seemed a little off after I said that, as he maybe didn't belive it.

"So you mean you left it on the Library and you found it on your bag?" He asked with a confused but intrested way.
"Yeah, maybe I'm going nuts. Sorry once again. I have to get up I must finish hella lot of projects." I said as I wore my jacked.

"Project's? For what?" He asked.
I was surprised he wanted to talk, he seems pretty introverted and egoistic.

"Architectural Projects. I work on Architecture Studio in Luigis Street. Quite big building, best in town." I replied with a boss lady voice.

I saw him and he smirked the moment I told him that. What did I say, I didn't even make a joke. Was my boss lady voice too much maybe?

"That's nice than. Thanks for the book have a nice one." He said as again leaving with no trace.
"You too." I said even though it was pointless he had left already.

My god, Men this days, am I right?
I got up to pay his coffe.

"Hey Lucas here you go." I told my friend as he was the waiter.
"He has paid Kate also told me to give you this energy drink." He replied.
"Huh do I look that damn tired?" I asked.
"Yeah like a truck has run over you ten times." He replied.
"Who's side are you even on man.." I replied as I sighed.
"I don't make the rules kiddo, by the way nice catch guurl!" He said while picking my arm with his finger.
"It's not like that, we barely know eachother." I replied.
"Uu feisty one, a quick thing huh." He said with a smirk.
"What the hell men you know me better than that, hell nah." I replied with an eye roll.
"Yeah way too well, wonder if you even like boys. Or is it bcs of Daniel." He said.
"Bruh let's not even mention my Ex. He shall be dead forever. Anyways you only wanna chat, I have no time for that. Good night" I said while wearing my jacked.
"Oh okay boss lady you go on, nightyy!" He said while opening the door for me.

I went back home and relaxed myself with a nice warm bath.
I ate some food and was ready for my all-nighter...

Without knowing time passed and Saturday was on the way..
