Sold off / Examine

Mia woke up the day after and heard people talking in the living room. She thought it was weird because no one wants to come into their old broken house

She got up and went downstairs and saw two guys talking with her parents, they were wearing fancy red and black suits

"Good morning" she said and bowed, they looked at her and one of the men said "that's her?" her parents said yes and after the men got up and walk toward her

"Mom, who is this?" She said while stepping back

"Take her now!" Mia's mom yelled and the both men suddenly grab her

Mia was kicking and screaming, they won't let her go "Mom! Help!" She yelled over and over

The two men threw her into an old horse trailer "why are u doing this!" She yelled and started crying. A man handed her mother a bag with cash, Mia eyes widened "U SOLD ME! YOU'RE OWN DAUGHTER!"

Her mom was smirking, "remember when u raise your voice at me... this will teach u not to do it again" Mia watch her mother and father in disbelief

"W-what are they going to d-do to me?" Mia said trying to whole back her tears

"U are going to work at the royal house, they are going to examine u and see if you're qualify to work at their place, if u do get in then you're going to work there and send all the money u earn"

"What! Why would I do that?!"

"Because if u don't, then your dear brother won't get no food"

Now that got on her nerves, her blood was boiling with anger
"U REALLY THINK I WOULD BELIEVE THAT?! STARVING YOUR OWN SON, REALLY?!"

"Ok fine then don't believe me" her mom said while she had an evil smile on her face, Mia felt terrified, should she believe them or not

She decided to believe them because they are cruel people who do anything for money LITERALLY. "How would I know he's eating?" She asked, her mother rolled her eyes
"We'll let him visit u once in a while so you'll ask him yourself"

She felt sick, how did she call people like this 'parents' "fine then" she said looking down not wanting to look at those people in front of her "Good girl, now don't forget us"

"Wait, let me say goodbye to Chenle" she said in a eager tone

"No.... sorry, you'll be late if u do so bye bye"

She looked at her parents as the trailer started moving, she saw them counting the money they just got. She was speechless, "how could someone do that" she thought

~time skip~

After a few minutes the horse trailer stopped "come on kid, wipe your tears, you're going inside the palace, u need to look better than that" one of the men said

"I don't give two shits, of how I look" she said while jumping down from the trailer "btw I'm not a kid" she came closer to his face and said "old man" and then walked way

"Yah! U can't talk like that!" He yelled

She came inside a huge hall, it was 4 times bigger than her house

She looked around in amusement but then she saw people staring at her, she then realized that she was still in her pajamas covered in whatever was in the back of that trailer

Her face became red of embarrassment but suddenly a jacket was thrown on top of her, it came over her face, she removed it and saw that people won't looking at her again but who gave her the jacket?

*Hendery pov*

"It's time to get ready and meet your new servant" Xiaojun said while trying to wake up Hendery "I don't care, u go do it yourself" he said while still not opening his eyes

"Dumbass, it's called a 'personal servant' for a reason" Xiaojun said as he hit Hendery across his head "U motherfucker! Why u hit me?!" Hendery said as his body shot up from the bed

"Get out of bed NOW, we still have to choose your servant"

"Like I said, u do it I'mma go back to sleep"

"Ok then" Xiaojun leaves for a few minutes and came back with a cup filled with water. He saw that Hendery went back to sleep "you're still asleep huh?"
He threw the water all over Hendery's face making the younger get up immediately

"YOU'RE DEAD!" Hendery yelled and ran after his brother

He finally got dressed in a suit and went downstairs to meet everyone

He entered the hall and saw people staring at this girl who was still dressed in her pajamas. Hendery immediately realize that she was sold off because who would send their daughter dress like that in the palace

He noticed her face was red so he decided to do something without thinking. He started walking up to her, her back was facing him so he quickly took off his jacket and place it over her head and then walked off

"Where's your jacket?" Xiaojun asked as Hendery stood next to him "didn't feel like wearing it" he lied but Xiaojun didn't ask any questions but he was suspicious to why he was smiling like that

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank u all for coming, as we all know u came here for a job but we're lacking staff so some of u would be butlers or maids, cleaners and the most important a personal servant for our one and only future king. Before we started examining u we need to do a medical test first so the first 10 people on the right please follow that person and the left please follow the other person, thank u for your cooperation"

*Mia's pov*

She put the jacket on, she wanted to thank the person for their kindness but the announcer started talking

"So twenty people are being medically tested at the same time but there's LIKE 500 PEOPLE IN THIS ROOM" it's going to take a while but once she gets the job her brother will be safe

An hour past and she finally got to do the medical test. Shockingly she passed the check up, she never went to the doctor in 10 years, it was surprising
