The Hanahaki Disease
is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from a love that is one-sided, eventually choking the victim if the love remains unrequited.
The flowers that choke the victim being the favorite of the one they have the unreturned feelings for, can lead to a fatal end for the sufferer, all because of love that wasn't returned.
