Part 9- "Crowds"

"There is a big festival tonight" Lena said as they all walked into the lobby

"what kind?" Jack asked her 

"The week of the Merrie Monarch Festival is filled with craft fairs, free music and hula performances, art exhibits, cultural demonstrations, a parade, a hō'ike (show) and more." She read off the paper "Its to celebrate the late King David Kalakaua, otherwise known as the 'Merrie Monarch'. We should go!" 

"That sounds like fun!" Lily squealed, grabbing Oliver's arm making him smile a little

"I'm going to stay here, you guys have fun." Dannon turned 

"no no no" I grinned stepping in front of him 

"come on you know I don't like crowds" he sighed

"And that's exactly why you are going, its a fear on the list" 

"Do we really have to?" he huffed

"yup now lets go" hero grinned pulling his best friend towards the door

Luckily I had my camera in my purse.

An hour later we stood in from of a large crowd, we haven't entered with anyone else just yet.

"come on Danny just go" I laughed holding the camera up to his face

"danny?" he asked with a grin

"don't change the subject, go"

He sighed and started walking forward, we were supposed to meet everyone at the from of the parade

We were almost there when I turned to look at Dannon, he looked pale as a ghost.

"you okay?"

"I'm fine" He mumbled in a tight voice

He now had his hand in a tight fist, I reached forward and grabbed it. Dannon's eyes met mine for a split second before he looked away with a smile. We finally stepped out of the crowd and saw everyone waiting on us at the edge of the street. I quickly let go of Dannon's hand and turned the camera off.

"see it wasn't that bad" I grinned looking up at him

"The end wasn't bad" He grinned and started walking towards his friends

I giggled and walked towards the group as well.

"So where to now?" Jack asked 

"How about we go to the Art Fairs for awhile?" McKenna asked

"That's a really good idea!" Lena grinned and rubbed her shoulder before walking towards the little booths

A little while later we were all crowded around the Ni'ihau shell workshop when we heard Dannon's name being called.

"Dannon! what are you doing here?" a pretty blonde asked pulling him into a hug

"uh, family vacation?" he said, more like asked, he was awkwardly hugging her back

It was Amber West, she goes to our school but I've never really spoken to her.

"Really? well me and the girls just needed to get away from school for awhile" 

"yeah I'm sure its not because you heard we were here" Tyler mumbled as he started walking off 

Behind her stood two other girls, they looked around awkwardly.

"well it was nice seeing you but we have to go find Jack and Lena" Dannon mumbled and started pulling me in thee same direction that Tyler had went.

The girl started following us, clearly not aware that Dannon wanted nothing to do with her

"What are you doing for dinner?" She asked him

"Don't know" he mumbled 

"Wanna go have dinner with me? There's this nice restaurant around the corner from here"

"no thanks. Got plans" he huffed as he finally spotted the parents a few feet away

"I thought you said you didn't" She said in a weird tone and grabbing his shoulder to stop him

"um I'll leave y'all alone.." I frowned awkwardly letting go of his hand and walking towards Jack 

"what's that about?" Jack asked asked got closer 

"no idea, it was weird" I sighed watching them

It looked like they were arguing, Amber was throwing arms in the air as Dannon just stood there with a hard look on his face. Her two friends stood a little ways away awkwardly.

"Oh gosh.. That's his ex Amber" Hero said walking up to the group, McKenna following 

"Amber's here?" Lena asked spinning around from the booth her and max were working at 

"Yeah see" Tyler pointed to the arguing 'couple'

"oh no this is bad" Lena mumbled putting her hand on her mouth

"What's so wrong with Amber being here?" I asked very confused 

"She is crazy" Hero mumbled still watching their interaction go down

"They dated for two years, the whole time she cheated on him with anyone. He found out right after his parents died, and when he needed her she was off with another guy. He broke up with her and since then she has been obsessed with him. She literally stalks him, and threatens every girl at school who is around him." Tyler explained

By now Dannon had said something to really piss her off, she huffed and stomped away. he finally made his way to the rest of the group who were clearly watching. 

"Enjoy the show" He asked shoving his hands in his pockets 

"What was that about?" Lena asked

"She wanted to go to dinner tonight, I sad no and she got mad" He shrugged

"well enough drama, how about we go to dinner ourselves?" Jack asked

"Of course I heard there is a karaoke diner near by lets go there!" Lily said pulling Oliver that way 

A grin spread on Dannon's face as he looked at me

"nope" I said and started following them

"Come on you have to face it" He said catching up to me

"not here" I mumbled

"For the project" he said in a mocking way

"fine.."
