If you need to lend a sense of realism and sense of place to your fiction, especially realistic fiction, you can use sites like Zillow, Redfin, and the classic Google Maps to see real images of real places. Need to set a scene in a fancy house? Need to get a sense of how far it is to the train station? I'm sharing two of my favorite resources for establishing a sense of place.

Use Google Maps street view.
- Walk through roads and cities.
- Search specific locations.
- Find time of travel with routing.
Zillow is a real estate app.
- With it, you can see the insides and outsides of houses.
- Describe certain rooms.
- Lookup types of neighborhoods (rich, poor, small, big, high crime, etc.).
- Save photos and links to listings.
- Use what the description describes the places as.
