To determine the purpose of the climax, find the novel's central question. If you're struggling to find it, identify your character's arc.
Avoid Deus ex machine or a solution that doesn't involve the protagonist's will or action.
What emotions, images, or thoughts do you want to leave your reader with?
Many books end with remaining ambiguity.
