"Shaheen" is the English translation of an action-packed Urdu novel written by the famous Pakistani novelist, Naseem Hijazi. It highlights the plight of the Muslims of Granada, leading up to 1492, when they were going to be ousted from Spain. It revolves around a young warrior, Badr Bin Mughira, who is continuing the legacy of his forefathers by trying to keep the flickering flame of the Muslims alive. The novel vividly relates the historical events that occurred during the reign of the last ruler of Granada, Abu Abdullah. An interesting read for those who want to have a glimpse into the events of the last days of Muslim Spain.
