Drabblemadness Stories

Groot wants something so Rocket translates. Disclaimer - I don't own Guardians of the Galaxy. This is written for Froday Flash Fiction Challenge, specifically the January little special for 2022 where we're to write 100/200/300-word count stories. Which, while this is written for the Experimental Fic collection, the drabble isn't the experiment. It is telling something (story or otherwise) as Groot would tell it with another character's translations inserted between. It was actually quite fun and definitely something which can only be done with Groot.

Mary Anne feels like Humpty Dumpty. "Life sucks," Mary Anne muttered to nobody in particular, but perhaps given the fact nobody else was in the room she muttered what she did to her mother. "Why can't I have a normal dad?" She of course didn't want him to hear what she just said out loud, despite the fact saying what she did would only make it even clearer to her father that she was majorly upset with him. "I'm not sure what makes me madder, the fact he reneged on his promise that I could change my room, or that he treated Dawn's mother the way he did. I know Dawn's not going to be mad at me-that's just not here way, but still. It sucks." She felt like Humpty Dumpty on the wall, who had a great fall, nor did she feel like she could put the pieces together again. Her lips pushed together, and tears welled. She felt like she was at the same place she was before her father let her change her appearance to look more adult-back to him not understanding she simply wanted to be allowed to grow up. And- From what she heard from Mimi, her mother would definitely be disappointed in her father right now, as her mother would want to see Mary Anne grow up, but for her husband to have a second chance and it felt like he blew it. Mary Anne took in a deep breath. "Yeah. He's my dad, so there will always be a ton of second chances for him to get things right, or at least until I graduate high school and I'm out of the house, but a second chance with Dawn's mom? We were happy. Normal even, for once." She buried her head, forcing back the frustration she felt.

This is a continuation of my series of one-one-shot per girl per episode for the new series, but it is a triple drabble for September 2021's Little Spacial of writing as many drabbles (three sizes) as one can.

And I'd been looking for her kind of character as grandmother to Maru and Sebastian and so that resulted in this little drabble.

This is written for the January 2022 little special for Froday Flash Fiction challenge where the goal is to write as many 100/200/300 word stories in a week. This one is written for the Classic Canon (Challenge) collection. I actually had fun figuring out what classic I could reimagine into a modern fandom within 100/200/300 words, but this was fun to write as it uses my headcanon of Regulus being Hermione's dad, unbeknown to everyone else. The idea here is that Lockhart is never believed regarding his adventurers and is already insane like Don Quixote is.

The idea popped into my head when I went to see female character was focused on in the oldest stories posted to the collection and the first one I recognized was Janeway, but then this little piece popped into my head.
