Ross' curiosity is brought to the fore through a missed bus ride, a run in with a relentless admirer, and an Indie band concert - the same events which test Winter's determination to admire Ross from afar. Despite secrets, significant others, and typical conventions, the two become hopelessly connected through shared secrets and fears, causing them both to question their theories on life, love and the beautiful chaos of unforeseen possibilities.

This story takes place during The Hobbit, the journey to reclaim Erebor. Lucy is part of Thorin's Company. She met the group when Azog the Defiler and the Orcs were battling against the Dwarves, where Thorin's grandfather died after being beheaded by Azog. She fought with the group and proved herself in battle. Although she-dwarves rarely fight, Thorin and Company found that she could be useful on their journey to reclaim Erebor years later. So with the help of Gandalf, she joined the group, the only she-dwarf of the Company. (or so she says) Lucy and Thorin have a sort of unspoken connection that no one questions. But when some of her true colours are shown, how the others see her is put to the test.
