Dadlore Stories

Ten college students. One incredibly stupid idea. An entire continent to make someone else's problem. It was supposed to be an ordinary college lecture. Then someone asked the question that would ruin ten perfectly respectable young adults: "What if we just left?" Not dropped out after careful consideration. Not transferred schools. Not taken a gap year. Left. They wanted adventure. They wanted stories. They wanted to experience the kind of ridiculous shit their dads could talk about for hours. They wanted dad lore. So they dropped out of college, neglected to tell their parents, called in a favor involving a C-17 Globemaster, and somehow ended up illegally entering China. What follows is a journey across Asia involving martial arts tournaments, ancient legends, questionable transportation decisions, military police, unfinished shopping malls, international news coverage, dragons, guns, fishing, photography, political arguments, and at least one incident that should probably never be mentioned in front of a federal investigator. Along the way, ten friends who thought they were throwing their futures away begin discovering something much more important: Maybe figuring out what you want to do with your life doesn't always happen in a classroom. Sometimes you have to get lost first. Preferably somewhere in China. And preferably not while being chased by the PLA. This is the story of ten idiots who went looking for dad lore and accidentally found themselves.
