Thor bursted through a pair of large golden gates with a goblet in hand as he approached a pillar of fire.
"Another!" he yelled as he threw the goblet into the flames causing the fire to enlarge as a peachy orange glow encased the room
Loki, who heard his brothers commotion, turned around a pillar revealing himself as his brother walked with immense confidence, mjolnir in hand, down the hall towards him
Thor halted in front of another pit of fire as his brother gingerly stepped up next to him
"Nervous brother?" he questioned as he turned to face his older brother who would soon take on the mantle of king of asgard
Thor laughed out loud at his brothers statement
"Have you ever known me to be nervous?" he countered as he faced the God of Mischief
"Oh... well there was the time in Nornheim," Loki teased
"That was not nerves brother," Thor assured "that was the rage of battle."
"I see" Loki said softly as he set his gaze on the floor
"How else can I have fought my way through one hundred warriors and pulled us out alive?" Thor questioned
"Well," someone said sweetly causing both siblings to turn to face the familiar silky voice "as I recall, Loki was the one who veiled us in smoke to ease our escape" Aria stated calmly making herself known as she gingerly walked up next to her raven haired older brother
Loki smiled down at his younger sister as she stepped up beside him
"Yes," Thor chuckled "Lovely to see you dear sister," he said as he reached out and kissed her cheek lovingly
"Likewise, to the both of you" she said before she and Loki exchanged a soft kiss on each other's cheeks "ready for your big day?" she questioned Thor
"As ready as possible" he replied with a kind smile "however Loki, some do battle, others just do tricks" he countered as an attendant made their way up to the three royals with another goblet filled with wine on a tray for Thor
Aria scowled at Thor's statement before taking one of Loki's hands in her own and squeezing it reassuringly, just as they did when they were children.
It was no secret that Loki was jealous of Thor whether he admitted to it or not, however a stifled chuckle from the attendant brought Aria out of her daze as she and Loki's gazes to shift to them
Loki released Aria's hand and with one swift motion Loki turned the wine in the goblet to be an illusion of multiple snakes slithering out and onto the attendants hand
"Ah!" they yelped as they dropped the plater and backed away causing a loud clanging noise to echo through the room
The attendant looked up at the Prince fearfully causing Loki's smirk to form a mischievous smile as he laughed at the attendants antics
"Loki," Aria scolded lightly as the said Prince averted his gaze to his younger sister. As he met her eyes he cocked an eyebrow knowing full well by the tone in her voice that she was trying to fight back a smile of her own
"Now that was just a waste of good wine" Thor complained attracting both his younger siblings attention
"Oh it's just a bit of fun," he said lowly before speaking directly to the attendant "right my friend?". With another swift motion, he dispelled the illusion and the snakes that roamed the floor disappeared in a ray of green and white light
No matter how old or how many times Aria has seen it, Both her brothers abilities and frankly, even her own, fascinated her. Not just the beauty of it, but the power and the ability in itself
Thor continued to laugh as Aria nudged Loki's arm lightly "Serves him right" she whispered to her brother with a smile
The three royals chuckled as the attendant was quick to clean up the mess they made before quickly scurrying to the other side of the room
Loki clasped his hands together in front of him as the three siblings returned their gazes at the roaring fire in front of them
As they did so, two attendants came back, one approached Thor with his winged helmet as the other approached Aria with a beautiful golden leaf-like hair accessory; a symbol of royalty. The attendants bowed their heads as Thor graciously took his helmet and Aria her accessory.
"Thank you" Aria said softly to her and Thor's attendants before bowing her own head as they ran along
Aria then turned to face Loki and with a simple tilt of her head, Loki graciously took the accessory from his sisters hands.
Before Loki could help his younger sibling, he couldn't help but notice Thor looking solemnly from his helmet back up to the wall a number of times
"Oh," he groaned "Nice feathers" he continued to defuse the tension before twisting Aria around so he could attach her garment securely to the base of her crowned bun
Thor's expression softened as he and Aria laughed lightly at their brothers comment
"You don't really want to start this again, Do you, Cow?" Thor challenged as he turned to face his younger brother, who was pining an accessory in their sisters hair
"I was being sincere!" Loki countered as he finished pinning the golden leaves to Aria's hair
"You are incapable of sincerity" Thor stated as both his younger siblings turned to face him
"Am I?" Loki questions
"Yes" Thor states bluntly with a still smile on his face
There is a small pause as both boys stare at each other with mouths agape before a light hearted chuckle tears it apart
"Oh boys, play nicely" Their sister says in a velvet like voice as she clasps Thor's hand in her right and Loki's in her left
"I've looked forward to this day as long as you have." Loki states calmly as he looks into his older brother's ocean blue eyes "You're my brother and my friend. Sometimes I'm envious," he pauses "but never doubt that I love you." he says softly which brings tears to burn in Arias eyes as she watched her brothers have their moment
Using his free hand, Thor brings his hand up to Loki's neck and cradles it there for a moment as Loki smiles softly at his older brother
"Thank you" Thor says honestly, not breaking eye contact with Loki, as he pats his neck once before dropping his hand to his side
"Now give us a kiss" Loki jokes causing both Thor and Aria to chuckle lowly
Thor then hits Loki's armour playfully "stop" he laughs as he, Aria and Loki turn back to the fire with warm smiles displayed on each of their faces
Thor then makes some final adjustments to his ceremonial wear as Aria makes her way in between her two big brothers, still facing the fire
"But really how do i look?" Thor asks his siblings
Both Loki and Aria turn to their older brother. Aria places a reassuring hand on Thor's shoulder as Loki scans Thor's outfit
"Like a King" Aria says as Thor turns to meet her glossy eyes and proud smile
The ceremonial horn in heard in the distance causing all three siblings to take a deep shaky breath and face back to the wall
"It's time" Loki states as Aria grips both her brothers hands lightly in her own before squeezing them both three times

And earning three squeezes back from both of them. The three royals stand in a comfortable silence for a moment as they each mentally prepare themselves for their eldest sibling's coronation
"You two go ahead" Thor says softly enticing a wary look from both of his siblings, "i'll be along, go on" he assures as he glances at both Aria and Loki
Aria nudges her head discretely at Loki indicating she would like to speak to Thor alone for a moment. Loki smiles at both of his siblings before leaving the two alone, heading into the palace
After a moment of silence Aria turns to face Thor, still hand in hand
"Thor," she says softly as her brother's gaze meets her own "I am beyond proud of you dear brother, you are going to make a very wise and magnificent king." she smiles as she brings him down into a hug
"Thank you, Aria" Thor mutters into her shoulder "I love you, dearly"
"I love you more" she counters softly as she retracts herself from the hug. She looks up at Thor whose eyes glazed over with tears.
She smiles up at her eldest brother before she cups his cheek into her hand and brings him down to place a loving kiss to his forehead
"I know you have most likely heard this a lot today, and despite that you keep denying it, I know you are" she pauses "It's okay to be nervous," she starts "but you have me, Loki, Mother and Father behind you, always, never doubt that" she states softly
"Thank you sister" Thor smiles as he places a kiss to her forehead
"good luck, my king" she jokes softly gaining a soft chuckle from Thor. She then picked up her dress a little bit as she made her way into the palace.

Aria weaves her way over to where Loki, Volstagg, Fandral, Hogun and Sif stood. As she approaches, the warriors look at her in question as she takes her place beside Loki
Aria follows Loki's gaze which lands on her mother and father up at the top of the throne. She notices her father scanning the crowd looking for a particular blonde prince, but when he notices he is not there, he glances at both Loki and Aria in question. Both siblings simply sigh and shrug their shoulders at their father who now looks displeased as he lifts his gaze back on the crowd.
"Where is he?" Volstagg questions the two royals next to him
"He said he'd be along" Aria states as she glances at Sif with a knowing look causing both girls to roll their eyes. Volstagg notices this and turns to face both Lady Sif and the Princess
"What?" he questions
Aria laughs lightly at his curiosity before gesturing to Sif to give the explanation
"He wants to make an entrance" Lady Sif states as she inwardly groans at the Princes antics
"Well, if he doesn't show up soon, he shouldn't bother." Fandral scoffs "Odin looks like he's ready to feed him to his ravens." he complains earning light laughter from the princess
"I wouldn't worry" Aria sighs causing the warriors to bring their attention to both royals who simply look ahead, unphased by the whole situation "Father will forgive him" she explains
"He always does," Loki says in a monotone to anyone else, but to his sister, he says in defeat.
Loki knows he cannot fool Aria no matter how hard he tries, so while the warriors shift their gaze to the crowd, Loki avoids eye contact with his sister as she gingerly places her hand in his and squeezes it assuringly
Loki smiles softly before squeezing Aria's hand three times, something him, Thor and Aria started doing at a very young age

And his smile broadened slightly when he, again, felt three squeezes back
They were both torn out of their moment when a large eruption of cheers emits throughout the hall which they all knew, indicated that Thor had made his grand entrance
"Oh boy" Aria heard Loki mutter under his breath
"Here we go" Aria said breathlessly as she made eye contact with her father who raised an eyebrow at her, silently asking if she knew Thor was going to do this, she simply sighed and bounced her head back and forth lightly as she shrugged earning a soft chuckle from her mother who watched the father-daughter banter
"Sister," she heard Loki mutter causing her attention to return back to her raven haired brother "shall we?" he asked as he held out his arm for her to take
"I suppose we don't have much of a choice, do we?" Aria joked which caused Loki to chuckle softly as she took his arm in hers
With the roaring crowd behind them, the two youngest royals made their way up to their spots at the top of the throne, next to their mother
And just like that the coronation began.
