Don’t be so stupid;
Don’t be so lame.
I stand up a bit straighter,
As they call my name.
I stand with my friends,
As I laugh, and I smile.
I don’t even notice,
He’s stared at me for awhile.
When I first look up,
He just looks away.
I just shake it off.
No one sees me that way.
I pretend that I’m fine,
But my curiosity’s gnawing.
I feel an attraction.
It’s like my heart’s calling.
Oh, don’t be so cheesy.
Don’t be cliche.
I look around, frantic,
As he starts walking my way.
“Hi.” he says, softly,
And I feel like I’m flying.
Has my heart just exploded?
I feel like I’m dying.
A smile plays on my lips,
And I hold out my hand.
“My name’s Christina.”
And I can’t even stand.
“Won’t you sit down?”
I say, patting the couch.
He just shakes his head.
He must just be in doubt.
“So how are you?”
I ask, and kick myself.
He only can shrug.
I’ve just slipped into stealth.
“Actually,” he begins.
“I wanted to see Jake.”
He points to the guy,
And I feel my heart break.
“Oh.” I say, sheepishly,
And I move out of his way.
As they passionately kiss.
I realize that he’s gay.
