— ahyoung was born and raised as the middle child of three siblings in connecticut, usa. her parents met at yale where they both graduated college from.
— since they were young, her older brother and younger sister were both fixed on going to yale, but ahyoung always wanted to perform. her first role models were queen, and the first album she bought was "a night at the opera" by the said band. they inspired her to sing even at a young age.
— she started rapping after listening to and practicing eminem's rap god just for fun. it eventually became a hobby and she got better at rapping as time passed.
— during winter in 2015, her family visited their relatives in seoul for the holidays. that was the time when she secretly auditioned for fantagio. it was too pressuring for her to audition for big companies like sm or jyp, so since fantagio had open auditions she took her chance. when her parents found out she got accepted, they got pretty angry because she didn't even tell them, but they ended up supporting her anyway.
— ahyoung is a very big shawol. in fact they were the first kpop group she ever stanned and were the ones who inspired her to become an idol. she even says her ideal type is minho, but she loves all 5 members nonetheless.
