Chapter fifty
Lavi's POV
**
I waited in anguish with blood rushing through my veins as I held my head between the palm of my hands.
This is all my fault!
If only I had gone on my own to meet her father during the weekend just like I had planned. None of these would be happening.
Dad made sure to ruin my chances of leaving the house as he kept sending me on endless errant.
Thirty minutes later,I was totally drained of whatever patience I have left just waiting for her in the classroom to show up.
Just when I was about to grab my bag and head out; I noticed a shadow by the door way as she stood with a half smile spread across her face.
I gasped for air as I stared back at her with every anger evaporating off me like a steam of hot air.
My breath of fresh air and also the one carrying my unborn child.
Sweet Jesus!
"Hey!" Her voice barely audible
"Hey!" Smiling at her.
I covered the distance to where she stood in a few stride before pulling her into a tight hug and breathing out the breath I didn't know I was holding in.
Goodness.
"I need to talk to you about something" pulling away from me
Tucking some loose strands of hair away from her face. I trace a line along her cheek as she blushed at me before looking at the floor.
"I know princess; how're you doing? I Couldn't speak to you all weekend and I was worried. Are you okay?" Glancing at her belly.
"I'm okay" she smiled back in return
"And the baby?"
"Fine as well but we need to talk about the baby" she look nervous pulling me towards the desk across the empty class room and I can only imagine why.
"I already know what you want to tell me K. I only need you to tell me why?" Studying her closely and praying silently to God for her not to lie to me about obi's claim on our baby or I will freaking lose it!
She bite down at her bottom lip as she stared back at me.
"After I almost lost my baby last week, I had to do something to save it..." Pacing around in circle.... " and Obi had afford me the help I needed even though i didn't ask for it and after giving it much thought; I had to take it.." She gave a short pause as she stared back at me with regret in her eyes...."I tried to talk to you before now but your number was turned off and I couldn't" she explained calmly.
My mind was racing as I stared back at her. She looked and sound desperate and in her desperation to save our baby; Obi had taken advantage and offered her something he knew she won't be able to turn down and to think that she almost lost our baby makes my head spin.
Did her father try to make her abort our baby?
"Did you loose the baby?" My voice coming out in a whisper as I squeeze gently on her hand
"No I didn't and that's why I had to do everything it takes to save it but I promise to tell the truth when the time is right"
Gosh!
"It's okay! Whatever decision you take; just make sure you tell me about it okay?"
"Okay" with a small nod and smile.
Seating on the desk; I pulled her into my laps causing her to giggle like a little girl.

Katherine's POV
**
Three months has gone by and we have finished writing our waec exams and during these week of staying at home; Lavi would always sneak into the house to bring me fruit with the help of aunt Nene who would always let him in.
I jumped back in shock the moment his head popped in through the door.
"You're late today" rolling my eyes at him before glancing at the table watch. it was 8:30am in the morning. He usually comes around earlier than this.
"I was waiting for your dad to leave before making an appearance my lady" winking at me
Placing the bag of fruits on the side stool. He sat at the edge of my bed and pulled me into his lap before resting his chin on my shoulder.
Lavi has been overly affectionate this days and doesn't hesitate to carry me even to the bathroom whenever he comes around.
Cheezy
My stomach isn't that big yet but it's becoming noticeable by the day.
I eat a lot this days!
His finger found their way under my loose blouse and rubbed gently at my belly.
"You're getting bigger by the day princess" nuzzling his nose at the croak of my neck.
"That's because the baby is growing dumb head" leaning back against him.
He chuckled at me as he continued to trace a circle around my belly button.
"Do you think it will be a girl or a boy" his voice full of curiosity.
"I don't know but I can tell that it's going to be a boy cos he is always so naughty at night"
"Are you saying he is going to be as naughty as you?" Biting at my ear lobe.
I shuttered inwardly at his contact but smack him either way.
"Who could be more naughty than you hmm?" Half glaring and smiling at him
"You of course" grinning at me
I tried to hit him again but he had me trapped as he wrapped his arms around me with my back against his chest
"But you know I love you still right? My naughty princess"
I was till curled up against him like a little child; before the door flew open revealing my dad at the door as he stood staring at us with a confused expression.
Blast!
"What's going on here?" His tone filled with rage as he looked from Lavi and back at me.
"Dad please! I can explain" trying to sound as brave as I could
"Ain't you supposed to be pregnant?"
"It's not what you think sir.. We were just..." He tried to explain but got caught off by my dad angry growl.
"Shut up! Don't you dare say a word. You don't get to speak when I haven't spoken to you so shut the fuck up" he yelled.
"Dad please; he hasn't done anything wrong" I tried to defend stepping in front of him but he pushed me back to stand behind him.
What now?
"What are you doing with my daughter in her room when she is supposed to be pregnant for someone else"
"I'm sorry sir but you're wrong! Katherine is not pregnant for someone else. I got her...."
"Please don't!" Shutting him up before he could complete his sentence.
He will never make it out of here if he dares say it to his face.
"What did you say?" My dad has taken a threatening step towards him and he didn't even budge. Lavi looks like he can sure as hell hold his ground against my dad but I wasn't gonna have my boyfriend and my dad fight because of me.
Hell no!
"You have to go now" pushing him away from my dad and towards the door
"No I don't have to. Your dad needs to know the truth" he insisted holding his ground even more.
Stubborn fool!
"Trust me lav; you have to go now!"
"Why?" His eyes blood shot as he looked at me. My dad was already running out of patience at this point as he kept pacing around behind me.
It will only be a matter of second before he flare up at him again.
"I wanna be the one that tells him the whole Truth" almost whispering
"Okay"
He walked towards the door and stopped mid way as he looked back at me before heading out.
"Start talking!" My dad voice had jolted me back to reality.
