INTRODUCTION

Adrian Rosewell finally has everything he ever wanted and more. He is happily in love with the boy who he had been in love with for years, Alexander Lightwood, and he finally feels like a member of the family while living in the New York Institute. Valentine Morgenstern was defeated in what was being called the Mortal War, and the Mortal Instruments were safely put back where they belong, in Alicante. Things were peaceful for the first time in months, and Adrian couldn't be happier.
Or as happy as he can be, considering he knew that his mother could be out there somewhere, alive and well. He can't stop wondering what she looks like, where she is, what she's doing. Can't stop wondering if she had reunited with his father after her exile, can't stop wondering if he had little brothers or sisters. Can't stop wondering if she really is dead after all, cut down the second she was exiled from Alicante, and it's tearing Adrian to pieces being in the dark.
