"You've been invited to the picnic this year!" screamed Vishwas, poking his head into the room where I was sound asleep. "Like you haven't, V!!" I groaned at his enthusiasm. Really. Who is that happy so early, but my crazy brother?!?!?
"Haha - okay - I'm off to work. I have to meet a client for breakfast. Don't lose the spare key. Bye!" he chirped before withdrawing his head from the door of his guest room. Yes, I'd crashed at his place last night because by the time he got back at 2, Tanay had gone back and I had only just about finished doing the dishes. Before he left out of the main door, though, he called out "Dev - I'm telling you - you better keep yourself free this Sundaaaayyy!"
His voice lingered in the now empty house and though I tried going back to sleep, but thanks to him, now my mind was awake. My phone told me it was past seven and I wasn't happy at the thought that I had to work on just five hours of sleep on the second day of the week. Too tired to hit the treadmill, I rushed up to my flat on the highest floor of the building and in less than an hour, left for a long day of work. After all, if I was really supposed to go and meet Sneha's family this Sunday at the "annual picnic" as Vishwas had called it, I better get everything done beforehand, lest I face the wrath of my beloved brother.
Ughhhhh - I wish this week would go as slowly as possible!
But on second thought, how bad could it really be; besides having to hang out with people I barely know?
Dwelling on that cheerful thought, I took a detour to my favourite café on the way to office, so that I could at least, grab a coffee - if not breakfast, before another twelve hours of my favourite hobby – work.
