We both look at each other with our jaws drop.
The last time I saw him when I left my apartment.

"Are you an idiot?!" Dexter yell at me. "you could have been killed. What were you thinking?"
I never saw Dexter this angry before. He holds his temper when pushing his glasses to the bridge of his nose. He's shouting and scolding at the same time.
"Sorry..." all I can say.
He look at me and smiles, "you shouldn't be walking like a zombie like that you could get hurt. I'm walking you home."
Dexter offer me to walk me home.

"Dexter, that's quite alright. you probablyy busy and-"
"I'm going to worried about you all day. I'm walking you home."
Even thought Dexter was once my landlorder, he was always stubborn.
We walk side by side. We stay silent not wanting to make the first go to speak.
It's bit awkward. He was once my landlord and I was once his rentors.
"How's your apartment?" He ask.
"I have to wait until January."
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"At least, I have a good friend to let stay me at her place for almost a month."

"Anyway, how are you doing?"
"I'm okay still terrotizing rentors."
Is that suppose to be a joke?
Dexter coughs and said, "What are you doing for Christmas?"
"I'm locking myself in the apartment and not coming out until January."
Dexter had shock expression, "Are you okay?"
"yeah, just things I didn't expect."
"like what?" he said.
How can I tell him this?
"Well.....it's complicated situation." I said.
"whatever it is, you'll figure it out."
"That's awfully nice of you to say that."
"I'm learning."
"Learning?"
"Ever since, you told me all those things. I start to see a different light. I realize how much I treat people terribly. I didn't know behind their situation and saw only money in my eyes. When you left, people have complain about their lives and how I should treat them with respect between landlord and renters."

"I'm sorry for being a bad land lord all those years to you. Thank you for telling me."
"You aren't a bad guy. We just have different status. You're a landlord. I'm pretty much broke."
"Doesn't matter? You're human. I shouldn't treat you like garbage."
Hearing Dexter what he wants to change with himself and as a landlord. I never see this side of him. I'm actually happy for him.
"I'm happy for you, Dexter." I said.
Dexter smiles, "If you weren't living in that apartment, I would never change into the person I'm becoming. Will you continue to help me?"
"sure."
We chat all the way down the street seeing Saya's building sticking out. I told him we're here.
"Thank you for walking me," I said.
"It's nice seeing you again. it's be nice to chat some more," Dexter said.
"Next time, we can have coffee?"
"That will be lovely."
When I was about to walk back to Saya's building.
"Wait." Dexter said.
I look back at him.
"Is it possible.......I can still change?"
He put his hands into a fist over his chest.
"Dexter, You talk to me, save me and even made changes to the building. you are changing. The you right now is much better than the one before. I'm happy to see my landlord being very kind in my eyes."
Dexter smile for a moment and slowly fade, "I'm sorry to say this, I have been thinking a lot ever since you left."
"what?"
"I regret what I did."
"Dexter, it's fine. I need to leave anyway."
"That's the thing. I don't want you to leave."
"huh?"
"because I think I like you."

"what? when? how?" I said.
"I don't know when it started, but you have been my mind for awhile. I want to let you know. I'm okay if you don't love me back. Seeing you again, it makes my heart beating fast. However, if you want to see me again or not, that's your choice."
He smiles very warmly that he bows. He turns around walking away.

I feel bad not giving him a straight answer, but this is crazy.
A lot of the guys have confess to me.
There isn't explanation of why.
They just suddenly like me out of nowhere.
I return back to Saya's apartment.
I found a note on Saya's door.
It must be Saya's neighbor saying Merry Christmas.
I take out the note and enter the apartment.
The note reads:
[Meet at your old apartment. your decision will be decide.]
My eyes widened.
who is this?
There wasn't a name.
Should I call Gerald?
No.
I should have known this.
The words on the text.
They are the same.
I should see it coming. I choose to ignore it.
I look at my TV screen.

The TV turn off just like that.
The room fell silent.
