Waiting

It was hard. I was sitting in the medical bay, watching over the seemingly lifeless form of SL4D3. From time to time, Knock Out came into my view, cleaning up some of the unused berths.
"So... What is your designation?" The question caught me off guard. Jerking my helm up, I looked at the medic.
"It's S1R11." Murming the answer, still questioning why he choosed to talk with me now.
"You seem to be quite attached to this vehicon. Calling him little one, and staying at his side whenever you can." While it was said like just another statement, I knew it was more a question.
"Well, SL4D3 is still so much like a youngling. I- We adopted him like a little brother." A soft look found itself on my faceplates and the look on Knock Out's, said enough to tell me, he will not ask anything else.
Focusing myself back on SL4D3, I softly stroked his forehead, something my human mother always had done to me. Without really knowing, I hummed a small lullaby to myself.
In the last days, nothing has changed for SL4D3. He still was barely alive.
And I still sat at his side. Waiting.
