It never stops thrashing
The hurricane that is my brain
Restless and relentless
Even as I sleep
Thoughts and words and ideas
It doesn't stop
The waves keep crashing
Even when the surfers
Have long since left the beach

Sometimes I don't sleep
As the thoughts keep flashing across
The hurricane that is my brain
And I lie awake
Sometimes in over analysis
And sometimes just the incapability
For the storm to cease
My body is the eye
The calm presense
Watching over
As my thoughts jerk around it

I was told, on those nights
That when the churning of
The hurricane that is my brain
Won't cease
My brain is growing
Oceans widening
Which only occur during flood

My brain may flood
And overwhelm
So the overflowing reminisces
Trickle from my eyes
But I must be grateful
The best and most important gift
The hurricane that is my brain
Grants me my intelligence, freedom and individuality
So I must thank the ocean
For rioting behind my eyes

I must thank
The hurricane that is my brain
