Harry's POV
It was the day of the interview and I was nervous as hell. We had been well prepared for this but it didn't make me any less nervous.
It didn't only make me nervous but it also made the realization hit me. After today everything would change. I would be 'gay' and 'dating Louis'. The one thing they hadn't prepared us for was the hate. We got hate already but now that we were 'gay'? It would be ten times worse.
We were backstage at the Late Late Show and I was pacing back and forth in the dressing room. "Harry would you chill out?" Niall said.
"I can't, I don't know if I can do this." I wiped my sweaty palms on my pants.
"Seriously, calm the fuck down. Everything will be fine." Louis rolled his eyes.
"You're not the least bit worried that something could go wrong?" I asked.
"Nope, even if something does go wrong we'll improvise to fix it." He shrugged.
"One direction? You guys are on." A man wearing a head set said.
"Oh god." I mumbled under my breath. We headed out onto the stage as people cheered and we sat down on the couch.
"Welcome to the show boys." James smiled. "How are we all doing today?" We all mumbled goods. "Great so you are on a tour currently and your next concert is your last of this tour, right?
"Yeah, we preform at the Staples Center in a couple of days." Zayn nodded.
"What's been your favorite place to go to on tour?" James asked.
"I'd say London since all of our family and friends can usually make it to those ones and it's nice for them to see how far we've come." Liam explained.
"So you guys so far have come out with a album every year. Are you coming out with a new album soon?"
"Erm yeah, we've got one in the works." I nodded.
"Well that's great, I bet your fans are excited to hear it." James smiled. "Do you think this album is different from the rest?"
"I think that every album we come out with is a bit more like us longer that the years pass, you know from gaining more experience with song writing." Louis explained.
"Well said Louis." James nodded. We went on like that for a while till the question I had been dreading came up. "Who's single and who's taken?"
"Um I'm single and the rest of them are taken." Niall spoke up and I took a deep breath, this was it.
"Really?" James looked towards me. "Harry, you're in a relationship now?"
"Yeah I am. Well not really now more of I have been but we've kept a secret till now." I said.
"Who's the lucky lady?" James asked.
"I hate to burst your bubble, James but it isn't a lady." I shook my head.
James looked confused for a minute but then his eyes widened in realization. "Oh, who's the lucky lad?" I glanced at Louis and grabbed his hand intertwining our fingers. "You mean you and Louis are—?"
"Yeah, Louis and I are dating. We have been for a while." I nodded.
"Wow um this is very shocking. I'd love to hear more about your relationship. When did this start?"
"Um back when we were on X Factor." Louis said.
"And why have you kept this a secret till now?"
"I guess we were afraid that we wouldn't be accepted by our fans but we believe if they're real fans they'll stand by us no matter what." Louis explained.
"Wow I've got to say, I am so inspired by you two. I mean you have such courage for coming out right now. I understand it can be difficult to come out, especially when you're constantly in the public eye so I have a deep respect for you two." James smiled.
"Thank you, James." I smiled back. "We know we won't get support from everyone but it's great to know we have support from you."
"Always." He nodded. We continued the interview, the entire time with me holding Louis' hand. "Well it's been great having you guys and best of luck to you two." James smiled at Louis and I before we walked off stage.
As soon as we were off stage I let go of Louis' hand quickly. "Nice job guys." Niall smiled.
"Yeah, that was really believable." Liam nodded. "Modest! will be happy."
"Who gives a shit, my hand is covered in Harry's nervous sweat." Louis grimaced and wiped his hand on his jeans.
"You know I should be pissed at you but you actually called me by my name in private for the first time I think ever." I shrugged.
"Whatever." He rolled his eyes. I pulled out my phone to see multiple mentions on twitter. Most were positive saying congratulations to Louis and I for finally coming out but some were negative saying faggots like us should kill ourselves. I frowned and looked at what was trending.
Larry is real, Larry coming out, suck it antis and I ship bullshit were the top four things trending. My phone began to ring so I picked it up.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Harry what the hell! Why didn't you ever tell me that you were dating Louis? You told me that you hated the guy!" My mum yelled through the phone.
I pinched the bridge of my nose as she continued to rant about me not telling her, "Mum, chill out. It's not what it looks like."
"It's not what it looks like my ass, harry." She snorted. "It's all over twitter, you grabbed his hand and announced to the whole fucking world that you're dating."
"It's just for the press, I swear." I sighed. "I'll explain everything to you later."
"You better." She said and hung up the phone. My phone rang again and I picked it up.
"Mr.Styles, its Harvey. We had a representative sit in on the show and they said you and Louis did amazing. We've set up for you two to make an appearance."
I heaved a heavy sigh, "When and where do we make this appearance?"
"Three days and at this nice restaurant we've already made reservations for."
"Great." I rolled my eyes. "Is there's anything else or can I hang up the phone now?"
"Actually there is something else." He said and I could practically hear his grin making me queasy. "We need you two to kiss."
"No way in hell am I doing that." I shouted. "It's one thing for you to force me into this but it's another thing to ask me to do that."
"Mr.Styles calm down, it's not like you have a choice. It's in your contract. So the more you cooperate, the easier it'll be for everyone."
"Whatever." I huffed and hung up the phone.
"What was that all about?" Zayn asked.
"It was Harvey, he congratulated us on our interview and informed me that Louis and I have a date in three days." I rolled my eyes.
"We have to go on a date? Fuck that." Louis spat.
"Well it gets worse, we have to kiss on said date." I grumbled.
"Like hell we are." Louis stood up, infuriated. "There is nothing they could make me do to kiss you."
"I tried to tell him but we have a contract which for some sick twisted reason allows them to force us to do it."
"This just keeps getting better and better." Niall cackled.
"Well then, I guess we've got some more training to do." Liam smirked.
"Great."
