Author's P.O.V:
You woke up with a foul smell contaminating your nostrils making it hard to breathe and your morning a bad one. You looked around the slightly dark room to find V silently sitting on your side table
Y/n: V what's wrong? And what's this smell? It's like something died
V: I'm sure it's just a dead rat, hurry up now and get ready for school
You were surprised to how he didn't even bother to worry about it, you studied him for a while until your eye caught his shirt which seemed different. It had a stain that you never saw before, it was like the stain of dried blood
Y/n: How did you get that stain?
V: It's just paint, don't worry about it. Get ready or you'll be late for school
You didn't argue any further, there was something odd about his behaviour but now you had other things in mind. You arrived to school early and spotted Jimin at the entrance with, two other girls. It was Taeyeon and another girl you didn't know. You approached them and Jimin was the first to notice
Jimin: Hey Y/n, good morning!
Y/n: Good morning Jimin
Right then the two girls turned towards you, Taeyeon came running with a worried face
Taeyeon: Y/n how are you feeling?
You felt happy that she was worried for you
Y/n: Yeah I'm fine now, thank you for caring about me
Taeyeon smiled and you noticed the other girl beside her
Tiffany: Look at you! You're even cuter than what Jimin described!! I'm Tiffany, no need introduction I already know who you are Y/n
You blushed, half because you felt embarrassed how she treated you like a kid and half because of what Jimin called you. It's not like he didn't call you that before but you thought he was kidding
Tiffany: Aww! Look at you all red and shy! You and Jimin would look so cute together!!
Jimin: Yah!! Stop it already!
You and Taeyeon both laughed at Jimin who tried to stop Tiffany from talking. Just then Sehun came running with teary eyes.
Taeyeon: Woah what's up with you?
He was panting and crying at the same time
Sehun: I-It's it's V-ver-n-no- h-he
He choked on his tears and couldn't make out any words
Jimin: Calm down dude! Now tell us what's wrong
He calmed down but still had tears falling
Sehun: Vernon, h-he's dead
All of you were speechless, mouths hanging down no one knew how to react. You were shocked and petrified, even when he bullied you no one deserved death for that
Taeyeon: You're not l-lying are you?
Tiffany: I don't understand
Sehun: The police found his family dead in their house, it just happened all too fast.
Jimin: First B/n and now Vernon, what's going on around here?
Tiffany: I think this school is haunted, we should run away while we can
Everyone except Sehun rolled their eyes
Y/n: There's no such thing as ghosts, I'm sure there's something else to this
Jimin: How did it happen?
Sehun: The police recovered a video of the incident but they're not sure if it's still in good condition
Jimin thought for a moment before talking
Jimin: So they're still working on it. After they fix it I'm sure they'll save it in their main computer's hard drive
Sehun: So?
Jimin: Then it's easy, we just need to hack in their computer
Taeyeon: That's a great idea!
Tiffany: And yet even Jimin could think of that
Jimin: Hey!! I'm smarter than you think!
They all were getting excited but you knew they were floating into fantasy
Y/n: But where are you going to get a guy who can hack into the police force's computer?
Sehun: Ahem, I happen to be a pro hacker. Hacking the police's computer is a walk in the park for me
Taeyeon: So I guess that solves this problem
Y/n: I wouldn't be excited. Even if you do get the video what good will it do? Even if we find the culprit what will we do? We can't catch him, we're just high schoolers not detectives
Tiffany: She's gotta point, I mean what will we do after we find out?
Jimin: C'mon guys! We can't just sit here, Vernon was killed and this might be the only way we can find why people are dying all so suddenly. At least we can be careful for ourselves in the future
Sehun: Yep! I say we do it!
Taeyeon: Count me in!
Tiffany: Well this is quite the secret information and you don't want anyone to know, so I'm here too.
Jimin: Y/n, you're in this or what?
They all looked at you with hope in their eyes
Y/n: Sehun, weren't you crying a while ago?
Sehun: I'm fine now, but I won't be if you don't come along with us!
He pouted with the most annoying yet adorable face, you had to roll your eyes
Y/n: Okay, as long as there are no bugs
They all shouted out loud in joy hugging you altogether until you couldn't breathe
Y/n: Guys!! I can't breathe!!
Jimin: Sorry Y/n
Just then the bell for class rang
Tiffany: Omg class is about to start! Quick everyone exchange numbers!
You guys exchanged numbers and were heading for class. You were dozing off in class thinking about one person, Jimin had called you cute and you were just so focused on that little thing that you didn't even hear the teacher calling your name.
Teacher: I believe you have a lot in mind today ms. Y/n. Care to share it with the whole class?
Y/n: W-wha? Oh um- X's value is 24?
Teacher: Well we aren't doing math are we? This is history class! You are staying for detention after school
Everyone laughed at you, you wanted to tear up but after all you've gone through you knew you were better than this. You kept it in and quietly sat down. The morning was bad already and now you had to stay back after school, things could not be any worse. You were at your locker when suddenly someone screamed from behind you.
???: YAH!!!!!!!!!!!
You also screamed in the process and four of them fell to the ground laughing.
Y/n: Yah!! It's not funny guys!
Sehun: Okay okay, we were thinking if you wanted to go for ice cream after school? We're all going together
Y/n: Can't, I got detention
Tiffany: That's sad, I was gonna ask you what your favourite flavour was
Y/n: Maybe next time
-Meanwhile-
Your history teacher just finished checking copies of the class and went out to freshen up, he returned and there was blood all over the room
Teacher: What the- SECURITY!! HEL-
His words were muffled by a strong grip on his mouth
???: Shhh~ It won't hurt if you stop struggling
A husky voice whispered on his ear giving chills down his spine, suddenly his body fell numb. Not being able to move he closed his eyes tight not daring to look what's happening in front of him
???: Should have stayed home today
His vision soon became blurry as he felt a hand shove through his chest, blood coughed out as the old man fell to the ground dead. A terrifying smirk merged on the Orange haired man's face as he left the body and disappeared in thin air.
While you were walking to your next class the fire alarm went off, all the students rushed to get out and the police soon arrived. You were a bit confused as to why were the police here instead of the firemen
Jimin: What's going on here?
Taeyeon: I guess there's a fire?
Tiffany: Then where are the fire trucks? I only see the police
Y/n: Well, this brings back memories
They looked at you with a confused look, your parents died in a fire and this was exactly what happened. The firemen were too late to save them and you lost them for good, a tear trickled down your cheek as you remembered the pictures of your burned childhood
Jimin: Y/n are you okay?
You wiped it off and gave a half smile telling that you were okay. The police came out with a stretcher and someone's body? Someone had died and the body was taken to the hospital, everyone were shocked, some scared to what had happened
Tiffany: Don't tell me, t-thats a dead man in there! Omg I'm leaving right now
Taeyeon: Calm your horses! What do you suppose could have happened?
Sehun: I think it's the same person who killed Vernon
Jimin: It could be possible
Just then the principal came with a sweaty and horrified face
Principal: Ah no need to worry, don't be scared people. The history teacher was quite old so he sort of had a heart failure, school is giving an early leave so you guys can go home. If any of you had some work or detentions it's canceled. Go home and have a nice day
You were now even more confused, it seemed a bit too weird. Everyone who had hurt you were slowly dying off, you tried to shake off that thought. There was no way these deaths were related because they mistreated you, there was something else going on here and you had to find it.
Jimin: Damn, guess we're having ice cream after all!
Taeyeon: How could you have ice cream right now?!
Sehun: Hey if we worry about this its going to haunt us. The best thing we can do is ignore it
Tiffany: I don't like being haunted
Jimin: Then it's settled! Hear that Y/n, now you can come too
Y/n: Um I guess I could-
Tiffany: Hurray!!! Come on, let's get out of here right now. The dead teacher is making me sick
Sehun: I hear ya!
And just like that you forced yourself to go with them. You can't remember the last time you went out like this, it was the first time you went on an outing with people you could count as friends. You never knew how funny Sehun was, Taeyeon and Tiffany were just like your elder sisters caring for you in every moment. Even so you kept glancing at one person without even noticing how you stared at him, Jimin was in your mind for the past few days. He was the first to approach you and it changed how everything was, you finally have friends because of him? You just had the biggest smile whenever you saw him
Jimin: Y/n is something wrong? You seem to have a lot in mind
Y/n: Oh ah nothing
Tiffany: Are you sure? Do you need more chocolate syrup on your ice cream? Or is it because you want sprinkles?
Y/n: Guys I'm fine, really. I can't thank you enough for what you all did for me, to start with being my friend
Sehun: Aww don't do that! We're always here for you
Taeyeon: You're such an amazing person, who wouldn't want to be your friend?
Tiffany: I never had a younger sister like you, it's good to have you around!
And Jimin came ever so close to you
Jimin: See, you do have friends and you never know someone might mean something even more
Sehun: Get a room you two!!
Jimin: Yah that's not what I meant!
Tiffany: I'm sure you did ChimChim
Jimin: Yah! I thought I told you not to call me that!
You just laughed so hard and the rest also joined in, this was truly the best way to enjoy but while laughing and drowning in joy you also kept the awful occurrences in mind. You really wanted to believe they were just accidents and casual deaths but this feeling never left your body. Even though you didn't even comprehend them a feeling that you had something to do with each death was haunting you even after reaching home.
You allowed yourself to fall on the soft comforting bed of yours as you breathed out a tired sigh
V: What's wrong Y/n? Did someone bully you again?
Y/n: Ah wha- no. I made some new friends today and we went to have some ice cream, I'm just tired that's all. There's something bothering me though
V: What is it?
Y/n: Today I got a detention by my history teacher but, somehow he died right after that. I don't know but I don't think he died because of heart failure, there is probably something that I'm not aware of
V: What makes you say that?
Y/n: Well first of all this boy who bullied me at the first day died by killing himself, then my project partner Vernon who scared me died the next day. And today my history teacher
V: What are you trying to say?
Y/n: I'm not completely sure but it all seems so certain, these people had nothing in common but a horrible encounter with me. But then again all the deaths were all so different and there are no traces of anyone who might have a hand in it
V: I would say they got their punishment for being mean to people, or someone or something just doesn't like bad people who bully and make people cry. I wouldn't worry about it so much
Y/n: But what if there's a serial killer out there killing off all the people who go to my school?
V: Well then don't worry because I'm sure the killer only kills bad people. Well look at the bright side, you finally have friends!
Y/n: Oh! Speaking of which, I have a project to do and I'm paired up with someone. I'll be going to his house this Sunday, is that okay with you?
V: As long as I get to come along with you, I don't trust guys you know that.
Y/n: Okay I guess, but trust me Jimin's different. He's the sweetest and the nicest boy, he was the first one to approach me as well
V: That's just even more reasons to not trust him
Y/n: I sense someone's jealous~
V: It's not jealousy! I'm afraid you'll replace me
Y/n: Aww V, I can never replace you. No one will change the way I feel for you and there's no one in this world who I care about as much as you
V: Glad to hear, I love you Y/n
You smiled at him cutely and giggled as you both kept on arguing
