EPILOGUE

ZACK FAULKERSON ILUSTRE'S

"Zack," Professor Jacob called me. "Come to my office, we need to talk about something."

I frowned, surprised. Almost all my blockmates were also surprised.

"Alright." I answered.

I started walking to Prof Jacob's office. Actually, I don't even know why we are talking. When I opened the door, I saw Prof Jacob sitting.

"Prof, what are we going to talk about? About what?" I asked immediately.

He smiled at me. "I will direct you, you are the one I have chosen to represent your country,"

I formed an 'o' in my lips. "For what? What to do?"

Prof Jacob laughed softly. I and he stood up from where he was sitting. He took something from the desk drawer. The color of the envelope is white.

"Hold it, and read it carefully. But-" he smiled. "When you get home later, you can read it there. Think carefully. This is the time to shine your name around the world, Zack."

"I can't understand, Prof," I said confused.

"You will also know the contents of the letter what I am talking about."

When I got home, that letter was still on my mind. Even if I want to open a case, I don't want to violate Prof Jacob's order to me. Sitting on the sofa, I quickly took out the letter hidden in the back of my backpack. When I opened it, I slowly read what was written there.

'Letter of invitation for International Culinary Extravaganza.'

Cooking show?!

To be aired on T.V. world wide?!

Are they serious?

Should I grab it?

This is one of my dreams to join this cooking show!

Thanks God!

It has a big impact on me when I build restaurants.

I was currently celebrating when my phone suddenly rang. I immediately answered the call.

[Hello, Zack?] Rhian greeted me as soon as I answered the call.

"Hi!" masayang tugon ko. "Kamusta?"

[I'm doing great. By the way, I called because I want to invite you to my wedding,] Rhian said.

My eyes widened, blinking repeatedly in shock. "Seriously?! Shit, that's amazing!"

"[Yes, and you'll be back home soon, I know]," she said with a laugh.

"Congratulations! I'm so proud of you!" I smiled widely.

"[Thank you! Zack, please, invite Alyzza,]"

I bit my lower lip. I didn't know how to answer her. I promised Rhian when she and Yordan were dating.

"I'll try," I promised weakly.

Even now, Alyzza hasn't left my mind and my heart. She's still deeply ingrained in my system. I'm really in love with her. I took a picture frame from the side of my sofa and gazed at the woman I love.

The picture was from when we were watching the city lights in Manila. She was wearing a simple white dress, her long curly hair swaying in the wind from the tenth floor.

She looked so happy, as if she had no other care in the world. I used to secretly take pictures of her, so she could have an album.

"I miss you, Alyzza," I said, touching the picture frame. "Please, wait for me, I'll come back to you."

The next day, I hurried to Prof. Jacob's office. I knocked a few times before opening the door.

"Good morning, Zack!" he greeted with a smile.

"Good morning, Prof.," I greeted shyly. "I already read the letter, Prof."

"How was it? What's your decision? Would you pursue it? Or decline it?" Prof asked directly.

Even Prof. Jacob speaks straightforwardly. He doesn't know how to mince words.

"I will grab the opportunity!" I replied happily.

"That's good to hear!" he said cheerfully, shockingly. "After lunch, our training will begin."

I'm really excited. My dreams are slowly coming true. I need to focus because the cooking show starts here in the United Kingdom in just two weeks.

"Are you ready, Zack?" Prof asked me. We're here now in the training room.

"I'm feeling a bit nervous," I admitted shyly. "What if I fail? What if all Filipinos are disappointed because I lose? What if-"

"Stop," Prof. Jacob said seriously. "Zack, all Filipinos are waiting for you. They support you. Win or lose, they'll still support you as long as you do your job. Do your best. Think positive, Zack. We're both Filipinos here."

"Alright. I can do it!" I encouraged myself. "Thank you, Prof! Ipapanalo ko 'to!"

When I got home, I felt really tired. I took a quick shower and lay down on my bed. Today was tough, and with the cooking show coming up in just two days, I was feeling the pressure. Knowing it would be shown live worldwide made it even more nerve-wracking.

I couldn't sleep; my mind was racing with thoughts of the competition and competing against chefs from all over the world.

Feeling anxious, I decided to call my Auntie Angeline in the Philippines. It was morning there, and I hoped she could comfort me.

"Hi, Auntie," I said when she answered. "I'm feeling really nervous."

With my parents busy with their new restaurant near our school, I felt a bit lonely.

"Zack, nervous is normal. Of course, you will be waving the Philippine flag, but the more important thing is do your best!"

"What if I failed? I want to go home there," I pouted my mouth.

"Come on," Auntie said seriously. "After the competition, you can go home. That's your dream, isn't it? So, go for it. Fight."

"Your family will always be proud of you, no matter what," Aunt Angeline said firmly. She encouraged me to use the competition as motivation to work harder.

Feeling a bit better, I took a deep breath.

"Just two more days until the real challenge," I said softly. "I hope I can make them proud, even if it's tough."

"Your competition is coming soon. All of us friends and your family are here to support. Win or lose, we are still proud of you!" I heard her voice's happy.

"I really hope she can watch me on TV. She's one of the reasons I'm here today," I said with a bittersweet smile.

"For sure, she will be able to watch it. It will be broadcast worldwide and then live on social media." I heard her chuckle. "Why didn't you introduce me to it before!"

"Hijo, it's been four years, but until now, you still mention her to us, you're still looking for her." biglang nagseryoso ang boses ni Tita. "Paano ka niyan magaasawa kung siya pa rin."

Magaasawa? Kung hindi siya, h'wag na lang.

"If she's not the woman of my dreams, I'm not tying the knot and ',I do'."

As the nerves kicked in, I scanned the table for my name, finding it on a paper. That's where I'd be stationed. I hurried backstage to get dressed, slipping into my crisp chef's uniform. The white jacket, buttoned down the front, matched the sharp trousers perfectly. With a clean apron tied around my waist and sturdy kitchen shoes on my feet, I felt ready to take on the challenge. And topping it off was the classic chef's hat, a symbol of my dedication to the craft.

"Five minutes," a staff member called out.

Just five minutes until showtime. I took a deep breath, reminding myself why I was here. For the future. For the woman I love. It was worth leaving him behind.

I'll prove myself and win her back.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the International Culinary Extravaganza!" pasimula ng host. "We have an extraordinary lineup of chefs today, including a rising star from the Philippines. Please join me in welcoming the Chef Zack Faulkerson."

"Chef Zack, you've brought a piece of your culinary journey from the Philippines to the UK. What can we expect from your dish today?"

Ngumiti ako sa kaniya ng malapad. "Thank you. Today, I'm blending traditional Filipino flavors with a modern twist inspired by the vibrant culinary scene here in the U.K. I want to create a dish that bridges the gap between cultures and delights the palate."

I approach my task with determination, my hands skillfully navigating through the colorful assortment of ingredients. The air fills with the delicious scent of garlic and onions as I starts the careful process of preparing the base for carbonara.

The camera focuses on a pot bubbling with coconut milk, a homage to my Filipino roots. The creamy liquid dances with the tropical aroma, providing a mouthwatering base for my dish. While the coconut milk simmers, I crisps up British bacon in another pan. The sizzle and savory fragrance envelop the kitchen, blending the traditional and modern elements in my unique take on carbonara.

"We're witnessing a culinary journey right here on our stage. Chef Zack is taking us on a Filipino adventure with his dish."

A few moments later, the bell rang, indicating that our allotted time was up. Together, we carefully covered our creations and stood tall, awaiting judgment. I couldn't help but sigh, knowing full well that my colleagues were exceptionally talented.

"Ladies and gentlemen, what an incredible journey we've had today with our talented chefs from around the world." excited na sabi ng Host. "The judges have deliberated, tasted, and considered every aspect of the dishes before them. Now, the moment we've all been waiting for-the final results!"

"In third place, earning high praise for their innovative approach and delightful flavors. . ."

"We have Chef Logan from Canada!" masayang sigaw ng host.

Applause fills the show as Chef Logan graciously acknowledges the recognition. The tension builds as the host prepares to reveal the second-place winner.

"In the second place, demonstrating exceptional skill and a unique culinary perspective,"

"Please congratulate, Chef Charlotte from Spain!"

Another round of applause resonates through the venue as Chef Charlotte from Spain accepts the acknowledgment with a blend of humility and pride.

"Now, the moment we've all been waiting for-the winner of the International Culinary Extravaganza. . ." pangbibitin ng host ng programa na 'to.

Habang tumatagal, mas lumalakas ang kabog ng puso ko. I bit my lower lip to ease my nervousness.

"Is none other than. . . Chef Zack from the Philippines!" sigaw ng host.

"Chef Zack, congratulations! Your dish truly encapsulated the spirit of this competition-diversity, creativity, and a celebration of global flavors. How do you feel?" He asked me, smiling.

Napatawa ako ng mahina, "Thank you so much. I feel honored and humbled. This journey has been incredible, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my culinary story with the world."

As the host hands over a trophy and my iconic hat, my victory in the competition is sealed. Holding the trophy with pride, I become an inspiration for aspiring chefs everywhere.

"Chef Zack, congratulations on your well-deserved victory in the cooking show! We're curious, who or what inspired you throughout this journey, especially in this moment of triumph?"

I licked my lips. "Thank you so much. This victory goes beyond the kitchen for me. To all Filipinos, we did it! We won!

"My inspiration comes from the first heartbreak in my life, the girl I left behind in the Philippines. It's about my family and friends who believed in me, even when I doubted myself. Their love and support fueled my passion for cooking."

The host nods, recognizing the sincerity of his words. "It's clear that your journey is deeply connected to personal experiences. How did your first love, the girl from the Philippines, influence your culinary path and this winning dish?"

He genuinely smiled, looking at him. "She's the taste of home in every bite I create, a sweet reminder of our shared memories. Winning this competition isn't just about cooking; it's about honoring my roots and the love that inspires me."

"And when I return to the Philippines, I'll bring her back to where she belongs. After all, a promise is a promise, right?" he chuckled, his eyes twinkling with determination.

When the winner was announced, I couldn't contain my joy. I jumped up and down, my heart pounding with happiness. I was shaking with excitement, overwhelmed by the moment.

Nakaka-overwhelmed. Talagang hindi ako makapaniwala sa nangyayari ngayon.

Thank you, Lord.

Erica Louisse Alfonso sent you a message.

Nagkunot-noo ako dahil gulung-gulo ako. Hindi na ako nagpatumpik-tumpik pa, I clicked her message.

A video?

Erica Louisse Alfonso: Hi, zack! I hope you enjoy this video.

I clicked on the video and hit play, feeling a flutter of anticipation. It was her- Alyzza, my love, my dream.

Watching the video, my heart raced with each passing moment. Unbeknownst to me, every time I saw her on social media, time seemed to stand still.

Closing her eyes, she crossed her hands, offering a silent prayer.

"Philippines. Philippines. Please, Philippines," she murmered, still closing her eyes.

Fuck, I really miss her!

"Si Kerson ang manalo. Si Kerson sana. . ." she whispered.

"Now, the moment we've all been waiting for-the winner of the International Culinary Extravaganza. . ." pangbibitin ng host ng programa.

"Philippines! Si Kerson! Si Kerson, please. . ." halos masigaw siya.

I couldn't help but smile widely, feeling grateful for Aly's support despite the distance between us.

"Wait for me, Aly," I whispered, my lips tingling with anticipation. "I'll come back to you. I want you back in my life."

"I love you," I murmured, pressing a kiss to my lock screen. It was a picture of her, playing bowling, a fond memory from our time together.

A few months later, after my victory, I returned home to the Philippines for a temporary stay, with my Professor's approval. That evening, as I planned to meet Rhian, I headed straight home to rest.

Rhian:
Hey

Rhian:
Don't be late, Zack!

Me:
Alright.

After replying, I drifted off to sleep, still battling the effects of jet lag from the long flight. The following day, I got dressed in a white long-sleeved polo, unbuttoned slightly to reveal my chest, paired with a blue coat and matching pants. As I drove to the mall where we were supposed to meet, I couldn't shake off the exhaustion from the journey.

Me:
Rhian, where are you?

Me:
I'm here.

Rhian:
I'm sorry, I'm stuck in traffic.

Me:
Don't keep me waiting!

Me:
Don't be late pala, ha.

As I neared the end of my circuit around SM Pampanga, my eyes caught sight of a familiar figure, instantly causing my heart to race. Everything seemed to freeze as my gaze locked onto her, my world momentarily coming to a standstill.

Just as I was about to make my way toward her, a voice calling my name broke through the stillness. It was Rhian, pulling me back to reality.

"Zack, sorry if I'm late. There was a lot of traffic at the intersection," Rhian said.

"No, it's fine. I almost got here," I replied casually.

"Shall we go then? We're almost five minutes late," I chuckled at Rhian. "We need to take measurements and try on our outfits for the wedding."

"Let's go." nakangiting tugon ni Rhian.

Kenzo?

So, totoo nga narito si Alyzza?

"Baby boy, what kind of dinosaurs do you want?" tanong ni Kenzo sa bata na buhat-buhat niya.

"T-Rex Dada!" masayang saad ng bata.

"Zack, isn't that Kenzo?" Rhian asked, breaking my trance.

I nodded, still fixated on them as we approached.

"Why do you resemble the guy more than Kenzo does?" Rhian joked, nudging me.

We headed to our designer friend's place to get measured for Rhian's wedding attire. Despite our history, Rhian and I remained on good terms, even as friends. Her husband was aware of our past.

I couldn't shake the feeling. It was definitely them. That was Alyzza. My Alyzza.

"Zack, focus," Rhian snapped as we were about to be measured. "What's on your mind?"

"Did you see Alyzza earlier?" I asked, my voice hesitant.

He frowned. "No, if I had seen her, I wouldn't have missed it. Duh!"

"But I saw her," I confessed. "I saw her beautiful face. She was right there."

"Zack, maybe you're just imagining things," he suggested.

Maybe. Maybe my excitement clouded my judgment.

"Why is Kenzo here? Isn't he supposed to be with his wife and son?" I questioned.

"Maybe he's bonding with his wife and son," Rhian replied.

No matter how many times I reasoned with myself, I couldn't shake the thought of his son. What if it was mine? What if I was his father?

Fuck! I can't bear that! I love her but she chosing to keep distance herself.

Unknown Number:
Congratulations, 'nak!

Unknown Number:
Si Tita Rosa mo 'to.

Unknown Number:
Alyzza's Mom

The sight of the unregistered number caused my heart to race. I didn't know what to do. Mom?! God, I really miss them.

Me:
Thank you, Ma!

Me:
I'll be there later. I have a surprise for you.

I'm dressed in comfortable jeans paired with a casual button-down shirt, topped off with a light hoodie for layering. On my feet, I'm wearing loafers for a laid-back feel. I've accessorized with a watch and some bracelets to add a personal touch to my outfit. Overall, I'm going for a relaxed and effortlessly cool look that's perfect for a day out at the mall.

"Hi, Ma!" I greeted Alyzza's Mom once I entered their house.

"Hijo! Kamusta?" tanong Mama ni Aly. "Four years kang nawala, akala ko nakalimutan mo na,"

I shook my head, chuckling. "I will never forget you, Ma."

"Ayba! Congratulations!" masayang saad ni Mama. "Pinanood ko 'yon!"

"Thank you, 'Ma!" I smiled at her. "I brought your some groceries and I have gift for you,"

"Anak, nagabala ka pa. Magagalit si Lyzza n'yan kapag nalaman na may binigay ka,"

I clicked my teeth in my lips. "Mama naman, e! Hayaan mo siya, I willing to do what makes you happy, 'Ma!"

That day was filled with so much joy. I hadn't seen them in ages, and they mean the world to me.

Mr. Galileo:
Are you free tonight?

Mr. Galileo:
Want to hang out at the sky garden?

I grinned widely and replied right away.

Me:
Sure, Mr. Galileo. I've missed your coffee too.

Mr. Galileo:
Great, see you later, pips!

As I waited for the time to shower, I knew my gig at nine in the evening was still hours away. With my former band members busy, I was on my own. I headed straight to the bathroom, eager to freshen up.

I decided to wear a royal blue shirt with a Dodge design, paired with white pants to highlight my complexion. Completing the look, I slipped into white chunky shoes to match my vibe.

Whenever I go to the Sky Garden, Lyzza is always on my mind.

"Why? May mali ba sa mukha ko?" Aly asked.

I let out a small chuckle. "There is nothing wrong with your face. . .But there is something wrong with us,"

Nagkunot-noo ako. Tinignan ko siya ng buong-buo. "Huh? Mali, ano?"

"We need to stop this deal," he bit his lower lip, standing up straight. "I can't take it anymore, Alyzza,"

She laughed softly. "Our deal is already done since we haven't talked for a month."

"Zack, congratulations!" Mr. Galileo greeted warmly, the owner of the Sky Garden. "Long time no see!"

"Thank you! It's been too long," I chuckled. "Your place is still as stunning as ever, always evolving."

Mr. Galileo and I caught up, reminiscing about my time in the U.K. As the conversation flowed, I felt a surge of emotion. Moments later, I started singing. With every lyric, I closed my eyes, feeling the weight of each word as it resonated within me.

"I saw Kenzo at the Skyranch with your son. Is he the father of your son?" hirap kong ani.

Nagulat siya sa sinabi ko. Hindi niya alam ang unang sasabihin nito.

"I just want to know. Is he really the father of your child, and not me?"

"We had a talk! We made a deal and I followed it! I followed it, Aly! I didn't break it. But, you forgot yourself! Ang landi mo, Alyzza. Ang landi-landi mo! Pati sarili mong kaibigan mo, kinama mo! Sarili mong kaibigan, nilandi at pinatulan mo!" I emphasized that he didn't seem to regret what he said. "Ganiyan ka na ba kalandi para kalimutan ako? Kating-kati ka na ba sa sarili mo sa mga oras na 'yon kaya si Kenzo ang pinili mong ikama? Is his bigger than mine that's why you hit him? Mas marunong ba siya? Mas masarap siya?!"

I feel so weak. I wish I could turn back time. This isn't who I am! I don't know where I found the courage to say those things to her.

I deserve all this suffering and pain. I'm such a fool! I've caused so much hurt!

Biting my lower lip, I brace myself for the pain as I recall telling Alyzza. Each slap feels like a numbing blow to my cheek.

Forgive me, Aly. . . I didn't mean any of it.

"No matter how many times you apologize and beg for forgiveness, I cannot accept you or forgive you. . ." Alyzza declared firmly. "Remember; You don't know how much I hurt. Don't think you understand it all!"

I began to step closer. "Alyzza, make me suffer more. Keep hurting me until you're satisfied, because I'll never forgive myself for the words I said. . ."

Tears filled my eyes as I stood there, lost and helpless, silently crying in front of her.

"Keep hurting me until you forgive me," I murmured. "Each day without you feels like a punishment I can't escape."

I sobbed, my tears mixing with the alcohol as I continued to drink. "How can she ever forgive me if I've hurt her so much?"

"Zack, that's enough. You're already drunk. Drinking won't solve anything," Rhian tried to take the bottle from my hands. "You know that, right?"

"Listen, Rhian," I slurred, pointing at her with spinning eyes. "I love her so much. I'd marry her over and over again in different churches."

"That's good. If you truly love her, give her time. No matter how much you drink, no matter how drunk you get, it won't fix things," Rhian said firmly.

Absolutely, no!

"Auntie, can we quickly stop by the bank?" I asked.

"Sure thing. I need to withdraw some cash anyway," she replied. "Why? Do you have somewhere to go?"

"No, Auntie. I just need to see Aly. I need to talk to her, to explain," I said.

I waited in the car while Auntie went inside to withdraw money. After a few minutes passed without her returning, I grew concerned and decided to go check on her inside the bank..

"Can we talk, Alyzza?" I whispered. "Just five minutes."

She stayed quiet, pretending not to hear my presence. "Kerson, nasa trabaho ako. Umalis ka na. H'wag mong sayangin ang oras mo sa akin."

"I'll wait for you until the end of your shift," I replied promptly.

"Wala akong balak kausapin ka, Kerson. Umuwi ka na lang, naghihintay si Mrs. Garcia." she avoided my gaze.

I was determined to fix things. I couldn't bear the thought of him disappearing from my life. I didn't care how long I had to wait; all that mattered was that Alyzza listened to me. As I spoke with Alyzza's coworkers, a child's cry suddenly pierced the air.

"M-Mommy..."

I turned slowly towards the sound, feeling a strange sensation wash over me. It was as if someone was calling out to me, urging me to come to them.

"Shush. . . don't cry, big boy. Your Mom is busy with her work," I said in gentle, hinawakan ko ang kaniyang maliliit nitong kamay. "I'm here with you. Let's wait for your Mommy, okay?"

"But. . . I-I miss my Mommy so bad," Alyzza son's voice quivered with tears, his sadness palpable.

"Who are you po?" The baby asked.

"You can call me Tito," I replied warmly.

"Yehey! I have Tito now! Dumadami na po ang Tito ko!" he exclaimed happily, bouncing and clapping with excitement. "Mommy, Look! baby boy is happy! I have Tito now! Yehey!"

He's a joy to watch, so adorable. He has my eyes, my lips, and my nose. He's my little half, my Zack Jr.

I'm terrified, so scared that they might slip away from me. I love them both, him and his son. But I'm confused, I don't understand everything.

"How can I make you understand if I was afraid to say that I love you. . . I've loved you for a long time," I confessed earnestly, my voice laced with vulnerability. "It's hard for me to admit that I love you even though I fucking really want to tell you,"

"Don't love me, Zack,"Alyzza said.

"Until when?" I asked, my voice shaking.

She turned my gaze back to the front, wuping away her tears. "Until when I can finally see the whisper of virtue, and not just the pain or tears, not just the darkness and the hate."

"Didn't you love me? Even a little bit of that in your heart?" I asked weakly.

Ang sakit! Hindi ko kaya. Hindi ko kaya hindi mahalin siya. She's my dream.

"Hindi, Zack. Deal is deal. Nagpatalo ka," she said. "'Di ba kung sino man nahulog isa sa atin, we need to stop this deal."

Nothing will hurt more than the words he said. My world came crashing down when she uttered those words. Maybe it's for the best, maybe it's okay for things to be this way.

I decided to go to SM Balibago to take a stroll and clear my mind. Despite the pain I've been feeling these past few days, it seems like fate is toying with us wherever I go.

And then, I saw her. I saw my love.

Hawak-hawak niya ang dalawang stuffed toy dinosaur: a green dinosaur bear in her left hand and a winged dinosaur in her right hand.

"Buy both. I'll pay," saad ko.

"I'll only buy one," she retorted, dropping the winged dinosaur back onto the shelf.

At the counter, as I prepared to pay, I felt his presence behind me once again.

"Miss, please, pati na rin 'to" I added, placing the dropped toy on the table with a smirk and a wink.

"Send your bank account, I'll transfer the money," she stated firmly.

"No need. I know it's for Dion. Consider it my gift," I replied, brushing off my insistence.

The next day, I accompanied Rhian to SM Pampanga to help her shop for things for their new house. But it seemed like Alyzza was playing with us, appearing unexpectedly.

Is fate aligning with us, or is fate simply teasing us?

H'wag mo naman kami paglaruan.

Uto-uto pa naman ako pagdating kay Alyzza.

"Wow! I like your dinosaurs!" I exclaimed.

"Thank you! These are my babies," Dion proudly declared.

"Oh, really? What are their names?" I asked.

Dion raised the green dinosaur. "This is Sauro," he announced, before indicating the winged dinosaur, "And this is Hugo."

"What fantastic names!" I praised, reaching out to pinch Dion's cheeks.

"Of course, Tito! Mommy told me these two dinosaurs were a gift from my Daddy yesterday!" Dion exclaimed joyfully.

My heart skipped a beat at Dion's words. Alyzza and I locked eyes, both of us struggling to conceal our surprise at Dion's revelation.

I cleared my throat. "Your. . . your Daddy gave those to you?"

"Yes, Tito! My Daddy gave me a present!" Dion affirmed, oblivious to the tension that had settled between us. "I miss him!"

So, is he truly my son?

Damn! I'm itching to uncover the truth. I want to know everything, but my mind is still preoccupied with Dion's day. Today should be about my son.

"Hi, Dada, I missed you!"

"Hi, anak!" Kenzo greeted him with a smile.

"Fuck! That's my son not yours, bro!" I whispered.

H'wag ngayon, Kenzo. Mainit ang ulo!

"Dion is. . . my son?" my voice shivering. "I. . . I didn't know,"

"I know, Kerson. . . I was so scared to tell you. I didn't want to burden you. I thought it was best for you to pursue your dreams without the complications of fatherhood." hagulgol niyang sabi.

"Explain yourself, Alyzza. Why did you lie for so long? You've been lying to me all this time?" I almost raised ny voice.

Gusto kong magalit.

"Why? Why did you deny it when I asked before?!"

She bowed her head for a moment, and suddenly, new tears began to fall. With each tear that dropped, my pain multiplied.

"It's fine, Zack. I was scared, and I thought I was doing the right thing. I didn't want to trap you or take I didn't do it to hurt you. I thought I was protecting you from a life you didn't want. Kung hindi ko ginawa 'yon, nasaan ka ngayon?" her voice shivering.

I sarcastically laugh. "Protecting me? You took it away! You took away my dream to have a family with you. . . my chance to be a father. You think this is right?! You think lying to me and denying me the chance to be a father is right? How is that protecting?!"

Inside the car, the atmosphere absorbed the echoes of their conversation, the pain palpable in every word exchanged.

"Four years. . . all lies," paulit-ulit kong saad sa sarili.

"I'm sorry. . . Natakot lang ako baka kapag nalaman mo ang totoo, kukunin mo na siya sa akin at ilalayo," her voice cracked. "Sinabi mo rin noon sa akin na, ayaw mong magkaanak. . . K-Kaya natakot ako baka hindi mo siya tanggapin. Ayoko masaktan ang anak ko dahil hindi mo siya matanggap. . ."

"How can I do that when you've always been the one I've wanted to be the mother of my kids since the beginning," I scolded her. "I've always included you in my dreams, but you keep to stay away from me."

"I have dreams for us, but it seems you'd rather dream alone, without me by your side," my voice trembled with pain and frustration.

"I did that for you. . . I left you because that would make your dreams better, Kerson. Apat na taon ang nakalipas, pero hanggang ngayon, pakiramdam ko, naiwan pa rin ako sa nakaraan." she sobbed, her tears unabated.

"I see you in every dream I have, Alyzza. You're my ultimate dream. You're the one I long to share my life with, to build a family with. It's only you, Alyzza," I confessed amidst tears.

"That's why I said I don't want to have children, because I know you're not ready to start our family at that time, as we were still figuring things out," I whispered. "I desire to walk with you down the aisle because you're the one I want to honor in front of God. But-"

"But you're the one who keeps pulling me away, keeping your distance. Now, as the wedding draws near, I have to attend. I hope you'll be there too. " I sobbed. " It would bring me some solace to see you, even amidst the pain of the melody we've composed together."

Malinaw na sa akin. It was a crystal clear. Alam ko na ang lahat. I understand her.

I'm so proud of her!

"Babe, I'll fix this. We'll fix this together, okay?" I declared earnestly, my eyes fixed on the road ahead. "I promise, we'll mend what's broken. I'll rebuild our family. Our children shouldn't have to endure the pain of an incomplete family,"

"Kerson, tumigil ka na. Isang mali 'to ang ginagawa mo. P'wede ka magpaka-tatay kay Dion habang may taong minamahal ka," tugon ko. "Ayoko masira ang lahat. Ayoko makasira."

"Rhian wants to invite you to their wedding," I explained swiftly. "You're the only one I want to use my last name with. Our children will bear our names too."

"I'm a hundred percent certain!" he exclaimed with a smile. "If only you could touch my heart, you'd know who it truly beats for."

"Son. . ." My voice uttered.

Dion looked at me, still puzzled. He gazed at me with curiosity.

"Mommy, where's my Daddy? This is my uncle, right?" Dion said softly.

"He's not your uncle anymore," Alyzza replied with a smile, patting his head. "Because, that's your Daddy, the one you've been searching for."

"Hello, Dion?" I bit my lower lip. "Hug your daddy, please."

As Dion's eyes met mine, a flood of emotions washed over me. With hesitant steps, Dion approached me, his small frame trembling with emotion.

. . Anak ko 'to!

I knelt down, my arms open wide, ready to embrace my son. As Dion reached me, he threw himself into my arms, holding on tightly as tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Daddy, I missed you so much," Dion sobbed.

I held him close, his own tears mingling with Dion's.

"I missed you too, big boy," I whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "But I'm here now, and I promise I'll never leave you again."

"This is truly a blessing from above," I declared, my eyes shining with happiness. "And I'm grateful for every moment of it."

"Let's fix what was broken and build something even stronger," I urged. "Together, as partners, as parents, and as soulmates. As one."

She smiled at me playfully. "Ayusin mo muna sa inyo ng anak mo bago sa atin."

"I"I guess Dion and I are settled now. I'll stay with you until the end. I'll fix what I left broken before.

I kissed him in the cheeks.

"You want to know how much I love you?" I asked.

"Sige nga? Baka scam 'to, ah!" I responded. "Gaano mo ako kamahal?"

"Can't you see how perfect your hands will look with that diamond ring," I said, my smile affectionate yet determined. "And get ready, because we're going to have more children, my love. No arguments."

I couldn't ask for anything more. With just them, my life feels complete. I'm incredibly fortunate to have my family. They are my everything. They are my reason for being.

Here we are now, back where Aly and I first met, and this time, we've brought Dion with us. The city lights shimmer in the distance, casting a magical glow over everything. This place holds so many memories for me. It's where it all began.

The first kiss.

The first date.

The first embrace.

The first love.

The first we made love.

"Do you enjoy the view, babe?" I asked, turning to Aly.

"Oo naman! Tagal ko nang hindi nakakapunta rito," she said. "Thank you, Kerson. I love you."

"I love you and our son more than words can express. I'll never tire of caring for you, loving you, and being there for you. I'd do anything to ensure you never leave my side," I said, smiling as I kissed her forehead.
"I'd even become a slave if it meant you'd never leave my side."

"How 'bout you, big boy?" tanong ko kay Dion.

"Of course, Daddy! I love the sparkling view!" he giggled.

"Of course, your Daddy willing to do anything just to see my big boy and my wife happy." I pinched his cheeks, kissing top of his forehead.

I don't need anything else because you are my beloved. Our son is a true blessing.

You two are my life.

"With your love coursing through your veins, every soft whisper becomes a battle cry of devotion," I declared, my resolve unwavering.

It's just like music soared my heart beats, not just a soft sound but a strong declaration of the beauty and strength of people. It showed the lasting impact of the Whisper of Virtuoso and the love that's always guided my life.

"And as the last note faded into the hush of the night, I realized that in music, in love, and in life, every ending is but the prelude to a new beginning for us." I looked at her in the eyes.

In the end, the Whisper of Virtuoso wasn't about names or looks; it was about the lasting connection between the heart and music, expressed quietly.

In life's big picture, the Whisper of Virtuoso taught me that even the gentlest melodies carry profound meanings.

The love, like music, speaks volumes silently. And with that, my story ends, but its echo will always linger in my hearts. Nakatatak na sa puso ko si Alyzza.

"Alyzza," I started, feeling my voice shake, "Since the day I laid eyes on you in the covered court back in high school, everything changed for me. You weren't just a beautiful sight; you were the piece of my heart I didn't know was missing. Every day we've spent together, my love for you has grown stronger, and I can't imagine my life without you."

As the city lights twinkled below, Alyzza and I sat on the grass atop the mountain, enjoying the breathtaking view. She always adored the city lights, no matter the vantage point.

With a warm smile, I reached for Alyzza's hand, our fingers intertwining as we admired the sparkling lights below.

"You know, Alyzza, I still vividly recall that night when we sat here, sipping drinks and sharing our hearts," I chuckled softly. "I'll never forget the day I followed you just to ask your name, or how you listened to my performance that time. It was truly special."

"It was the most enchanting serenade I've ever experienced," she replied, her smile lighting up the night.

"Our story, filled with the sweetest harmonies and the gentlest melodies, just like the music we create together." I squeezed her hands.

"Kerson, hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko kung ikaw ay mawawala sa akin. You're my greatest love song."

"And you, Alyzza, and to my dear Dion, are the heart of that melody, the words that give it meaning," I whispered, kissing her forehead tenderly. "I'll never let you go. I'd give up everything for you. Kayo ang mag-ina ko, e, kayo ang kahinaan ko."

Our conversation continued late into the night, filled with laughter, dreams, and promises. As we shared our thoughts and hearts, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the three of us, wrapped in the sweet melody of our love.

Our hands found each other across the table, fingers intertwining in a sweet, loving embrace. In that moment, amidst the candlelight and roses, we celebrated not only a romantic evening but the beginning of a beautiful chapter in our love story.

"Kerson, I had a feeling this moment might come, and I've been hoping for it. I love you so much." paiyak niyang tugon.

"Babe, you've brought so much light and music into my life. I can't imagine a future without you by my side."

"Babe, I want you to know that you mean everything to me." she softly said.

"And you mean the world to me, Babe. I cherish every moment we share." I fix her hair as the wind continues to tousle it gently.

She listened intently to me, her heart swelling with affection, her eyes glistening with tears of joy.

"Alyzza, I promise to be there for you, to support you, to laugh with you, and to share every beautiful moment life has to offer," I continued, my voice unwavering now.

I knelt down, I reached into my pocket, her hand trembling only slightly. I pulled out a small royal blue box and placed it on the table before Alyzza. With bated breath, I opened it, revealing a delicate ring that sparkled in the candlelight.

"You are the melody to my lyrics, the harmony to my chords, and the love of my life. Will you make me the happiest person in the world, and will you marry me?"

"Alyzza," I said, my voice filled with hope, "Will you be mine, now, always, and forever?"

Tears welled up in Alyzza's eyes, but they were tears of pure happiness.
She nodded, her voice choked with emotion. "Yes, Kerson, yes! A thousand times yes. I love you!"

With each word. With each chord.
With each of the lyrics. With each song I sing, With each whispered emotion. In that serene moment, we both understood that our love was a melody that would never fade, an everlasting song of our hearts that echoed across the peaceful city lights.

Alyzza Felix Tiangco,

She's the music to my ears, always.

She's the sweet melody that echoes in my heart.

She guides me through the night, shining brighter than city lights.

She's my favorite music.

Dion Stephen Ilustre,

Dion's laughter echoes as the music that brings harmony to my days.

In every step I take, Dion's spirit walks beside me, guiding my path.

Dion's embrace is my sanctuary, where I find peace and comfort.

Every time I open my eyes, I see the whisper of virtuoso, walking alongside them, promising eternity.
