"I hate it here." Betty said with a sigh.

It was a Friday afternoon and Betty and Cory were bored at work.

"Me too." Cory said.

He was spinning around in one of the spinning chairs they had.

"Are you not dizzy from that?" Betty asked with a bit of a laugh.

She had been watching Cory spin around for the last few minutes and it was starting to make her feel a bit dizzy.

"Nope." Cory said, continuing.

Betty laughed, going back to staring out the window of the store. It was kind of a slow day as it was raining quite hard out. Most didn't want to venture out in this weather. Betty sighed, feeling extremely bored and a bit tired.

She had stayed up a little too late with Julien last night. Julien had been up writing a bit and also playing her guitar. She kept insisting on Betty closing her eyes while she played but Betty refused. She always enjoyed watching her girlfriend play.

Betty heard her phone go off which caused her to reach into her pocket.

It was a text from Julien.

Hey baby, hope work is going well. I love you❤️

Betty smiled at the text before responding.

Hey babe, it's okay
Kinda slow
I love you too❤️

Betty sighed, putting her phone back into her pocket.

"How's the boys?" Cory asked.

He finally stopped spinning in the chair.

"They're good. Everyone's been a bit busy lately."

Cory nodded. He was now leaning against the counter. Betty had started to organize the books on the shelves as she was bored.

"You and Jules good?" Cory asked.

He didn't want to pry on their relationship, but he was curious on how they were doing.

"Yeah, we're doing quite well." Betty said.

Cory nodded. "I'm glad."

Betty nodded with a small smile.

Cory started to clean the counter before he started to speak again.

"How's it going to work once she has more shows to play?"

Betty sighed a bit. She didn't want to think about that since she had a few weeks before then. She was nervous to be long distance. She knew it was going to be a bit rough.

"I mean, we're going to make it work. It's just going to be a bit hard." Betty said softly.

Anxiety over it was sort of eating her alive. She was nervous about not having Julien around once again. Although, the rest of the tour was slowly starting to wrap up and the boys only had a few left for the year.

After what felt like forever, Betty headed to the back to grab her bag before heading out. She put her ear buds in, blasting Taylor Swift as she walked to her apartment. Cory bringing up the long-distance thing had Betty's head swimming with all sorts of thoughts.

Once she was home, she unlocked the door and kicked her shoes off. It was 5pm and the smell of lasagna filled the apartment.

Betty walked into the kitchen, Julien's back to her as she washed the dishes.

"I'm home love." Betty said softly.

Julien glanced over her shoulder with a smile.

"Hey baby. How was work?"

Julien continued to wash the dishes as Betty came up from behind, wrapping her arms around her waist. Her head rested on her shoulder.

"It was okay. I missed you."

"Missed you too honey." Julien said softly.

She turned her head to give Betty a quick peck on the lips.

"Dinner smells good. You know you didn't have to cook." Betty said.

Julien finished the dishes and turned around. She dried her hands and then wrapped her arms around Betty.

"It wasn't a problem. I wanted to. You work too hard to come home and cook."

Betty smiled and leaned in to kiss Julien.

"You're sweet." Betty said.

"Not as sweet as you love." Julien said, giving her forehead a kiss.

Soon the two were sat across from one another and enjoying dinner. Julien was quite the cook. She loved cooking, and especially for Betty.

After dinner, the two cleaned the kitchen up together and then showered with one another before getting changed into pajamas. They got snuggled up in bed and the tv was playing quietly in the background.

Betty had her head on Julien's chest as Julien kept her arms wrapped around her. Her fingers running through Betty's hair soothingly.

The long-distance thing was weighing on Betty's mind still. She seemed like she was daydreaming a bit when Julien interrupted her thoughts. She could tell something was off with Betty just by the way she was staring off at the wall.

"Baby?" Julien said softly.

She placed a gentle hand on Betty's cheek, trying to get her attention.

Betty snapped out of her thoughts for a moment, coming back to reality. She slowly let her own eyes meet Julien's. A look of curiosity and concern filled Juliens eyes as she waited for Betty to respond.

"Hm?" Betty mumbled softly.

"What's going on in that pretty head of yours? You've been quite quiet my love." Julien said softly. She let her fingers brush through Betty's hair gently.

Julien's soft voice and her touch brought Betty to tears as she started to think about future events. When Julien saw tears filling Betty's dark eyes, she was quick to hold her closer. Betty started to break out into cries as Julien tried her best to calm her down.

"It's okay baby. Just let it all out. I'm right here." Julien said softly.

She continued to repeat soothing words to Betty, trying her best to let Betty take her time before explaining what she was thinking.

It took a bit, but finally Betty was able to calm down enough. She was able to get out the thoughts that had been racing through her head.

"I'm scared babe. I'm scared of you going back on tour. I'm scared that things aren't going to be okay." Betty said softly. Her voice a bit shaky.

Julien nodded slowly. It broke her heart that Betty was having these thoughts. The guilt of what happened years ago was eating at her. She tried to push that guilt away so she could be there in the moment with her girlfriend.

"I know baby. I know it's scary. I'm scared too, but you know what?"

Betty tilted her head slightly so she could look Julien in the eyes. Julien gave her a comforting smile, brushing the baby hairs from her face.

"We're going to get through this my love. Everything will work out."

Julien's voice was soothing but also sounded quite confident. She meant every word that came from her mouth.

Betty nodded. Letting the words sink in for a moment.

"We're strong baby. We're going to be okay."

Betty nodded again. She let her head snuggle into Julien's chest again. Julien smiled and kissed the top of her head.

"I love you baby." Julien said softly.

Betty smile.

"I love you too my love."

Betty tilted her head slightly and Julien leaned her head down to kiss her softly. The two of the shared a sweet kiss for a moment before going back to snuggling.

After this conversation, Betty's mind was a bit more at ease. She felt more confident on this working. Even if it was going to be extremely hard. It was only going to be temporary.
