The sky was dark, the stars were bright, the forest was quiet, and preparations were going smoothly. The Moon sat above everyone, smiling down at every being as they continued with their little bickering, the Moon was beautiful as always, relaxed even, as they stood kilometers away from humanity's cruelty. The birds were free, but even they settled down under the starry skies and let the wind flow mindlessly. Critters were everywhere, but they seemed to quiet down for the night.
Your mind was soon startled when you heard a familiar voice of a certain demon walking up to you. "Sunflower!! It's cold outside!" His voice carried a tint of care into it, he didn't want to see you sick after all, he knew how fragile humans were.
"Ah, hi Bill!" You smiled at the little demon, he wasn't wearing his usual attire, he was wearing something more to the cozy side, he wore a yellow sweater and pajama pants, he looked like an idiot because of the way he walked and dressed, but he sure was your idiot.
"You humans are like glass! I don't want you getting sick!" You couldn't really quite understand the man, some days he would be bickering about how he could care less about what happens to you, but then suddenly he goes to being clingy and worried. But you already grew accustomed to it after a while, but it does catch you off guard at times.
Bill then took off his sweater and handed it to you, luckily he was wearing his pajama under his sweater, but it wasn't exactly the most cold-protected thing. Even though he was a demon, he was still not fully resistant to sickness, and even as something as small like a cold, he could still get it.
"You can still get sick too, right? You don't have to-" You tried to deny the sweater he gave you, you were appreciative that he was doing something so selfless though. "Don't do this to me, Sunflower, just take it! I'm a demon, I'll be fine!" He shoved the sweater to your chest as he pouted, he was dead serious, and despite failing to look serious, at least he looked adorable.
You looked at the sweater then towards him and sighed. "Alright.. thank you, Bill." You thanked him and smiled at him, you kissed him on the cheek before putting on the sweater. As soon as you kissed his cheek, he blushed and had a stupid smile on his face, he hated to admit the fact that he liked it when you gave him affection.
"It's about a few minutes before the clock strikes midnight, what do you have in mind to pass the time?" You turned towards Bill, you knew sometimes Bill had ideas about what to do, even though in the end you would end up disagreeing about his idea. "How about a little dance?" You were surprised by his suggestion, you were expecting a more chaotic idea, and you knew he was talking about those dances that partners do during a ball, and the obvious fact was that you didn't know how to dance.
When you were about to ask Bill about the problem, Bill immediately spoke before you could. "Hush, Sunflower, I know what you're about to say and I'm no dummy! I'll lead you, okay?" He had a reassuring tone as he held out his hand. "May I have this dance, Milady?" He asked in such a polite and soft tone that it was enough to melt your heart, you were hesitant, but you took his hand. "Shall we?" You asked with a smile on your face, you were slightly excited yet also nervous.
"Just follow my lead, trust me." He whispered into your ear, you could feel his warm breath on your ear and you couldn't help but feel a shiver down your spine, you felt your cheeks slightly warming up, but you trusted him and nodded.
You had your hand on his shoulder, the other hand holding his, Bill's other hand was gently holding your waist, making sure he wasn't gripping it too tightly, he didn't want to hurt you and ruin the mood, that was the last thing he wanted.
"Are you ready?" He needed to know before he started it, he didn't want to rush anything, he knew you had never done such things before and he needed to make sure you were comfortable. You looked up at him and smiled reassuringly. "I am, you take the lead." When you said that, he let out a small laugh and also a smile.
Soon, you felt Bill guiding you as you two waltzed over around the area, his movements were graceful like he had done this many times before. His touch was gentle and comforting, it was like time stopped as soon as you two started dancing. You two maintained eye contact as Bill kept guiding you, he had a smile on his face as he kept eye contact towards you, the atmosphere was calming, and you didn't focus on anything except him and the movement pattern.
You two didn't share any words with each other, just pure comforting silence, the silence didn't bother the two of you, it was like everything around you didn't matter anymore, and the only thing that mattered was the two of you, dancing, before the clock strikes midnight.
As seconds went by, you were starting to find it enjoyable and you couldn't help but smile, this time you finally realized how much you cherish these types of moments with him, even though they may be small or short, it was moments where you wished could last forever like a magical fairytale straight from a movie or storybook, but of course, nothing last forever, but your love for each other wasn't just a fairytale, it was real, and it was happening.
Just as soon as Bill stopped the dance, you two were standing under the bright moon where the light was directed, as you two looked at each other, Bill slowly moved his face toward yours, you smiled and were about to do the same until a distant sound was heard, the sound of fireworks.
Bill abruptly stopped what he was doing, he was still holding your waist as he looked at the bright sky, you too looked at the starry sky, and the fireworks were blooming the dark sky with various colors, vibrant and bright colors were filling the sky, the quiet forest was no longer when the sounds of fireworks shoot towards the sky, it began to get noisy and your mind was focused towards the fireworks that were making all that noise and colors.
Suddenly, Bill grabbed your chin slowly yet gently, before you could process it, he kissed you on the lip, your eyes widened and your cheeks flared up, but your response was to embrace the kiss, you couldn't help but melt into his arms as he hugged your waist in a protective yet caring way. The sounds of the fireworks were like that of a distant dream, the only thing on your mind was you and him, embracing each other for what you hoped to last forever, but that wasn't possible.
As soon as Bill pulled away from you, both of your lips parted and you couldn't help but want more. Yet, when he smiled at you with such comfort and reassurance, you forgot about your desires as your mind was focused on him.
"Happy New Year, Sunflower.." He said to you in a low tone, yet so soft like a silk blanket, so mesmerizing like a bouquet of freshly picked roses, so gentle like Pink light roses, a tone of voice that you could listen to for hours till no end.
"Happy New Year to you too, Bill.." you replied to him back as you had your arms on his neck as he hugged your waist. A thought then struck your mind and you looked at him a bit. "Bill, what is your wish for this year?" You were curious at what answer he would give since he was a being that nearly had everything, it would be interesting to know his answer.
"Let's see.. besides world domination, I want you." He said with a suggestive look and you rolled your eyes. "Not today." You said sternly, fully knowing what he meant by the way he looked at you with such desire, but then you couldn't help but let out a small laugh, in the end, you knew Bill wouldn't do it without your consent, he was a gentleman at heart.
"Bummer.." He said playfully while sighing, but then he looked at you with interest. "What about you, Sunflower? What is your wish for this year?" He asked with a wide grin on his face. "I don't have a clear idea yet, but all I know is that I just want you by my side this entire year." You couldn't imagine a day without Bill bickering and whining all day, it was a source of entertainment for you, and without having Bill's nonsense for a day would feel weird to you cause it was already a routine.
"Aww.. I love you too, Sunflower!" He kissed you on the forehead while still keeping his hands firmed on your waist, he really wanted to keep your close. "Any more words for 2024?" You knew Bill had many things to say when he felt romantic, he would say the most heart warming and loving thing that would get anyone's heart of ice to melt. For a demon who never experience affection and romantic love, he sure had his ways for words.
"Let's see.." He muttered to himself, before finally looking at you with a warm smile. "Y/n Pines, you are the best thing that has happened to me, without you I wouldn't know where I would be today, without you I would be nothing but an empty shell, you don't know how important you are to me. If you ever think that nobody would care if you were ever to go missing then think twice, because I would care, and I would miss you a lot, I will even go as far to use my full power to search for you, I love you so much that it hurts seeing you gone, I can't bare to see hurt, upset, angry, and any negative emotions, you deserve the world and I will gladly make the world get into its knees just for you, and that's how much I love you." His tone was that of roses, he was so good at showing his feelings for you that his nickname should be Rose.
Your eyes widened in shock, his words had a certain impact on you that it made you tear up, you couldn't help but realize how luck you were to find someone like Bill, because you knew that nobody will replace him, and Bill knew himself that nobody will ever replace your position in his life, you were his everything, his light, his motivation, his lover.
"You're such an extra with your words." You said teasingly with a small smile on your face, his words will always bring a smile on your face and butterflies in your stomach, he made you the happiest person alive.
"What can I say? A simple love confession isn't enough to show much I love you, I can give you the world just to prove how serious I am." You knew he was serious, he was powerful enough to make the world beg for mercy if he wanted to, but of course he wouldn't do it if you told him, he may be one with power In this relationship, but at times he can act so submissive and obedient, it was a nice contrast to his usual chaotic personality.
"How about we go inside? We can watch the fireworks from inside, i don't want you getting cold.." He sounded worried, but before you could answer, he picked you up and he held onto your waist so you wouldn't fall, your legs were wrapped around his waist and you held on his neck.
"I can walk-" You rolled your eyes in a joking manner as you blushed. "Oh? Really now?" He responded sarcastically while chuckling with a grin on his face. You knew there was no use arguing back because he will continue to act dumb.
"I can make you some food if that makes you happy." As soon as he mentions food, your smile brightened and you nodded at his suggestion. "Good to know we agree on something." As soon as he said that, he then carried you back inside so you two could spend more time together
