"I got you a present!!"
"Let's go to the Dingo man.. i'm starving"

We arrived at the Dingo and it looks pretty cool.
"This place's got the best burgers." Pony said walking up next to me
"Boy is he right, when i got extra money i always come here." Johnny said nodding
"Sounds like it's got reputation." i said looking at the place
We walked in and we just sat down wherever. The waitress came over and took our orders. Pony and mine was last
"I'll get the Dingo special" Pony said
Dally was on the right of me, I was on the left of Pony. Johnny was on the Right of him.
Then Soda, Two-bit, Steve, and then Darry was on the end across from us.

i didn't know what to get so i got the same as him. "uh.. i'll get the same thing.." i always get nervous getting food out, don't know why.
"Are you sure that's what you want? The burger is huge.." Pony said
"Um.. yeah, Dally can have my leftovers"
"Oh my god i just realized something." Two-Bit said slamming his menu down.
"What?" Johnny said
"Valerie, Dallas.. When you shorten both of your names it's Vally and Dally!"
"Wait that's kind of cute actually!" i said smiling
"That's what i'm calling you now, Vally" Pony said looking at me smiling.
That set something off in me.. and not in a bad way.
I felt my face heat up a little bit..
I looked away and kept smiling. "Hey i will too" Johnny said
"Yeah same here" Steve said
Everyone agreed, I guess that's my new nickname!!
Our food came and Pony wasn't wrong.
The burger was huge. way bigger than i ever thought actually.
"Wow, yah weren't wrong."
"Yeah, That's why greasers come here to eat so often, We're hungry people and it's pretty cheap." he said taking a huge bite.
It seemed like everyone effortlessly ate while i was struggling to take a bite since this thing was so big.

Everyone was almost done while i was barely halfway through and i was stuffed.
"Oh my god Dally i'm not gonna finish this." i said laying back and patting my stomach
"I'll take it!" Two bit exclaimed
"Have it." i said sliding my plate to him. I ate a couple fries before i did though
Once we were all done we left and decided to hangout at our new house.
It was really late and the sun was about to set. We were all watching TV in the living room.
"Hey Vally, Cmere" Pony said pulling me off the couch and to the porch of our house.
The sun was setting and it was gorgeous..

"Wow pony.. it's really gorgeous." i said gazing at the sky
"Yeah i know. People don't notice its beauty almost all the time."
I looked over to him admiring the pinkish colors.
The yellowish light reflected off him beautifully, he looked so pretty..
I blushed a little just looking at him and that's when he looked at me, i think he saw because he chuckled a little bit, i instantly looked away back at the sky a bit flustered..
"I wish i had noticed them before, I couldn't really see much of the sky though since the buildings always covered it. I was also always working."
"Well now you can take time to appreciate them.." he said and grabbed my hand and squeezed it.
My stomach felt weird.. something i've never felt before.. did i.. like Ponyboy Curtis?
"No, pshhh your out of your mind Valerie. How could you already like him? All he's doing is giving you a bit of attention.". i convinced myself.
The sun went all the way down and we walked back inside still holding hands.
"Woo! What's goin on there Winston?" Two bit said. Dally answered too since we had the last name until he realized Two was talking about Me.
He turned around and frowned.
I looked at him and let go of Pony's hand.
"Uhh.. Nothing! I don't know what your talking about?" i said rubbing my neck with the hand i was just holding pony's with.
"Yeah, we just wanted to see the sunset.." Pony said looking away from me
Oh...
Something pained inside me, but it's okay.
"Alright yall, It's pretty late and we'll see y'all tomorrow. Val needs to go to bed." Dally said standing up
"Dally! i'm 14!! i don't need a bed time, plus! It's summer." i said crossing my arms over my chest.
"Yeah? You give me that attitude again and we won't see the Curtis's tomorrow either, alright?" he knew they were my weakness. They as in Pony
"No no no! I'm sorry fine i'll go." i said walking up the stairs
"Well say bye first!" he said shooing me towards everyone
"Bye guys!" Pony was the last out.
"Bye Pony," i said putting my arms out for an embrace.
I expected him to put his arms around my shoulders but he hugged me.. around my waist..
I got that feeling again.. and i realized what the feeling was.
Butterflies...
i got a bit pink,
We released and he smiled and walked out the door.
Dally closed it and gave me a funky look.
"What was THAT about??" he said raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing! Just, being friendly." i said walking up the stairs to avoid his questions
"Nope! Get your little ass back here missy."
"Hey! My ass is in fact NOT little!!" i said crossing my arms again.
Who was he?? My dad or something?? 'Cuz he sure was actin' like it!!
"Ya got something For that Curtis?"
"No!! Like i said, just being friendly!" i couldn't help the thought of him, and my face flushed pink a bit.
"Aha! You liar. Your my little sister don't act like i don't know you!!"
"Fuck! Maybe i do! I don't know!!"
"Mhmmm.. go to bed little miss."
I mumbled profanities since i wasn't planning in admitting my crush on Pony to my brother today.
I went to take a shower so i unpacked my hair products and body wash and put it in the shower
Once is as done i did my lil ol routine and got into my pajamas.
i was about to head to bed until i heard the phone ringing.
"ILL GET IT!!" i screamed to Dally as i ran downstairs to our phone. It was at the bottom of the steps.
"Hello? Winston residence, Valerie speaking." i spoke into our blue phone
"Hey Vally, It's Pony"
"Oh, what's up? its late, do you need something?"
"Oh, um, i was wondering if you wanted to hangout tomorrow?"
"Sure! Who else?"
"Oh, just us. We could go to the Drive in or they library or something.. i remember you telling me you had stacks of books at your old house. I want to get to know you better.." i could hear the nervousness laced in his voice
"That would be Lovely Pony! I'll have to ask Dal though, you know how he is." I was secretly smiling ear to ear excited to hangout with him
"Okay, Call me back when you get the answer."
"Wait, what's your number?" i walked to our kitchen and grabbed a pen and napkin
"It's 123-456-78900"
"Okay! Thank Pony, i hope he says yes. I'll tell ya later, Bye!"
"Bye Valerie"
*Click*
I squealed into my hands
"What was that you were gonna ask me?" Dally said standing at the top of the steps
"Oh my god were you listening the whole time?!" i said flushing pink
"Your gonna go to the Library with Pony eh?"
"Can i? Pleeeeaasseee"
"Fine. Don't be messing around though. Alright?"
"Dally! I wasn't even planning on that!!!" i said putting my hands into my face.
I dialed Pony's number again.

*click*
"Vally?"
The first ring didn't even go all the way, he picked up so fast!
"Hi! Dally said Yes!! I'm super excited to see you tomorrow"
"Same, I'm gonna go to sleep now though, Goodnight Val"
"Goodnight Pony"
*click*
i walked up the stairs past Dally, he was watching me still. i scoffed.
he laughed
"GOODNIGHT DALLAS!" i said shutting my door
"Night Val!" and he closed his door
I dozed off thinking about what we were gonna do....
