I finally made my way to cafeteria. Shane was waiting for me at a table, filled with jocks and a few other girls.
“Sorry, I couldn’t shake Luca.” I muttered taking the seat next to Shane.
“It’s ok…are you hungry?” He asked.
“Not really. Just tired out and kinda pissed. Mind my French.” I smiled.
“Hahaha ok,” Shane smiled. “Ok guys, this is Mia.” He said
I gave a small wave and a couple guys raped me with their eyes.
“Hi Mia, I’m Stella and this is Jessica.” A girl in a cheerleading uniform smiled.
“Hey.” I smiled.
“And this is Ty, Carter, and Andrew.” Shane gestured to the guys who checked me out a second earlier.
I smiled and they waved.
“Nice to meet you all.” I grinned.
“So Mia, where you from?” Ty asked.
“Michigan.”
“Nice, how do ya like it here?”
“Pretty good, all the classes are pretty boring though.” I said shrugging.
“Did you have Art yet?” Jessica asked.
“No, not yet…why?” I asked, warily.
“Oh, um…do you have it next hour?” Stella asked.
“Erhm, yeah…”
“We will brave it together.” She smiled.
“Ummm, ok.” I said.
“Oh guys, you’re going to scare her away.” Carter laughed.
“Yeah guys, stop it.” Shane smiled.
I settled back in the chair. This was nice.
“Ok, do you play any sports?” Andrew asked.
“Basketball since I was in middle school but that’s it.” I replied.
“That’s cool…you any good?” Carter asked.
“Yeah, I would think so.” I said.
“Cool, do you wanna come shoot some hoops after school?” Shane asked.
“That would be cool. Sure.” I smiled.
“Cool, Jess, Stella, you wanna come too?” Andrew asked.
“Can’t I have Spanish homework.” Jess said.
“I’ve got to work an extra shift at the thrift shop.” Stella grimaced. She looked at me. “I work at the mall.” She explained.
“Ok.” Andrew said.
The bell rang.
“Art time, art buddy.” Stella said, linking her arm through mine.
“Hahah see you guys later.” I said and they smiled.
When we were out of earshot, Stella hissed “Someone likes you!”
“Who?” I stares at her like she was crazy.
“Shane!”
“Are you on crack? I cant even imagine someone liking me.” I hissed back.
“Ok sure.” She smiled.
I left her and went to my locker. I opened it to bent down to get my folder.
“Hey there babydoll, miss me?” a voice said.
“No.”
“Awww, yeah you did. Have a nice lunch?”
“Yes, You weren’t there.” I muttered.
“Ok whatever. You know you missed me.”
“No. Now go play with your girlfriend.”
I heard sobbing passing behind me.
“What girlfriend?” Luca asked.
I turned to see a pretty blonde, bawling while her friends consoled her.
“What did you do?” I growled.
“Oh, she wasn’t my type, like I told you.”
“Wow…you are a dick.” I said.
I walked away and flipped my hair, meeting Stella at the end of the hall.
“Why are you talking to Luca?”
“ I didn’t, I called him a dick and walked away.”
“Did you see Sarah?” she asked.
“Was that who was crying?”
“Yeah, that was his girlfriend.” Stella whispered.
“I thought that was Katie or Julia…” I muttered.
“What?”
“Nothing. Let’s just get this class over with.” I said.
