it was another one of tony's infamous parties, everyone was either already drunk or on their way to being drunk
you being only fourteen weren't allowed to drink, maybe the sneaky odd shot or two given to you by clint but nothing more, you'd stick to the apple juice or water in some posh glass because why not
your mum, nat, was behind the bar because it gave her a good scope of the rest of the party, it allowed her to know exactly where you were at all times. maybe she was slightly overprotective but you were the daughter she didn't think she could ever have so protecting you was always her number one priority
the party had been going on for a few hours and she was finally loosening up a little bit, actually moving around the room and into the crowds of people
though, that was her first mistake, the moment the hydra agents saw the opportunity to carry out their plan, they took it. they grabbed you from your place against the wall next the elevator. you wanted to stay as close to the exit as possible just in case some drunk people tried to harass you, you obviously didn't think it would make someone's job of kidnapping you easier but ultimately it did
they looked like ordinary guests
one of them casually put their arm around your shoulder which made you very uncomfortable but before you could protest you felt a sharp pinch on the side of your neck which made your vision blur until all was black, you passed out. the other agent came over to your other side and made it seem like they were just helping a drunk person out of the party
they left with you
when the party started to die down and it was mainly just the avengers and some agents left. your mum went searching for you, annoyed that she didn't keep a closer eye on you to make her mini game of one sided hide and seek easier
"hey, have any of you guys seen y/n?" nat asked steve, wanda and maria, the most sober of the bunch
"urm she was" wanda turned around to point to near the elevator, where you were a mere hour ago but she was met with a blank wall "there, she was right there, i swear"
"sorry natasha, haven't seen her in awhile" steve responded
"it's y/n, she probably went to her room to get away from all the drunk grabby people" maria gave a valid answer, trying to ease nat's nerves that were evidently growing
"something doesn't seem right, i'm going to go check on her" nat turned around and made quick work of getting to the elevator and then to your bedroom door
she tried knocking but you weren't answering, many would leave and assume you were asleep but your mum knew that something was off, just not what, so natasha romanoff being natasha romanoff trusted her instincts and entered your room and she was right. there was no sign of you anywhere, not under the covers, not in the bathroom and not in the closet. everything was untouched
panic started to set in and nat legged it out of your room, straight down the stairs and began frantically searching each and every room, she honestly looked like a mad woman. your mum knew you wouldn't go outside at this time of night unless it was with herself, wanda, maria or yelena
not finding you anywhere she ran back into the main area physically shaking
"woah there 'talia, what's got your panties in a twist" yelena joked walking back from the bar, beer in hand but the playful smirk she was sporting dropped when natasha turned around to face the blonde with tears building up in her eyes. yelena knew exactly what got her so worked up, it had to be about you because she's normally very good at concealing her emotions but you were of course a definite soft spot
"lena, i can't find her. i've looked and i've looked again. she's not here" nat spoke to her sister, shaking her head slightly, in an almost whisper, so much so that if yelena wasn't as close to her as she was she would have completely missed what nat said
steve and bucky, with their supersoilder hearing, of course, managed to listen in on what nat was saying. both stood up immediately which ultimately caused the rest of the team to look in their direction
"she can't have gone far" bucky tries to reassure nat but she was panicked and the fact the black widow was panicked made others panic
"who? what's happening?" clint stumbles onto a sofa, slighty tispy
"y/n. y/n's missing" steve tells the team and they all get to their feet, immediately sobering up at the mention of you possible being in trouble

days, weeks and months passed and no signs of you came up
no-one was doing well. everyone was feeling the effect of you gone, no-one took it easy but no-one was ready to give up
nat: she didn't sleep, barely ate and only showered when she knew someone else was watching the monitors. the only time she really spoke to people is when screaming at agents
steve: he still looked after himself but he was most definitely on edge, many punching bags were replaced
tony: he didn't sleep, he drank until he passed out and spent most of his time in his lab throwing odd metal pieces around in fits of rage
peter: he too barely ate and spent most of his nights patroling rooftops in hopes he'd find you
bucky: he trained, trained and trained
clint: he tried to be strong for nat but without you she felt like half of a whole
bruce: no-one saw much of him, he spent all his time in the lab
maria: stayed strong on the outside but on the inside was definitely breaking down. she sent agents out almost everyday to different hydra bases in hopes of finding you
nick: he was the angriest and quick-tempered anyone had ever seen him
wanda: she didn't look after herself at all. when releasing her anger she took to going on solo missions to hydra bases and scorching the fuck out them if you weren't inside
yelena: she went out and hunted for you
thor: left earth
steve, wanda and nat all gathered around the round table silently watching holograms of several different maps, that was until a red dot appeared onto one of them
without any time to process all three suited up in and went straight for a jet
the journey was quite long, it was supposed to be a three or four hour journey but with nat's speed it only took two
once at the base it only took a matter of seconds to reach the cells but still you were nowhere to be seen
"fuck" nat shouted and hit the wall in anger
it was silent for a few seconds until a bloodcurdling scream was heard further in the building
without words all three ran towards the sounds, screams and whimpers
the sight they saw after blasting open some double door was horrific
they you sat tied down to a chair, in rags that were covered in new and old blood. the patches of skin they could see through the holes in your clothes allowed them the view of the blue and purple bruises along with the open wounds
nat payed no mind to the man who was now on the floor courtesy of steve and wanda because she ran straight to you
