It's been three days since their holiday starts and Wonwoo has not gone out of his room, not even for a second.
"Are you really going to stay inside the room? Like forever?" Vernon sighed looking at him, probably thinking how pathetic Wonwoo is.
"Come on hyung! All of us are going to the movies tomorrow night. It starts at nine-thirty. And you are joining with us."
"No, I am not. I love staying in the room."
"Bro... you need sunlight. I mean, Mingyu hyung is all tanned and if you are so pale, you two wouldn't make a good couple."
"Ya!" Wonwoo feels attacked personally by his roommate. A couple, huh? Mingyu does not even like him. How could they become a couple?
"Hyung."
"Yea?"
"Have you talked to Mingyu hyung after you know...that night?" Vernon asked as if he have seen him walking out of the dorm. Well, of course not. He does not dare to bring up that incident again.
"Nah... I am not gonna." After recalling all his memory, Wonwoo clearly remembers how he told the taller that he is going to get over him. So that's what he is doing... getting over him by staying alone, on his bed, reading books, drinking banana milk, and letting his heartbreak in every possible way.
"Mingyu hyung asked about you, you know," Vernon said as he padded his shoulder. "You really should talk to him."
Wonwoo does not know how to reply to Vernon. Vernon won't probably know Mingyu likes Jeonghan. And if that rumor about Jeonghan and Seungcheol is true, it would hurt Mingyu a lot.
Wonwoo is sad for several reasons. One, Mingyu does not like him. Two, Wonwoo will get rejected straight away if he meets the taller. Three, if Mingyu's heart is breaking, his heart will break, too, twice.
"I am going out now." Vernon stopped and pointed at the fridge as he said "Oh, here is no food left in the fridge..."
Wonwoo attempted to ask the younger to buy him dinner, but Vernon continues "...and no, I am not going to buy anything for you anymore. If you want something, you have to go and buy it yourself."
"Ya! Vernon!" Wonwoo was totally ignored by the younger who left the room with his headphone on. How ungrateful his roommate can be...
Okay, No food for today. He scoffed. That's fine...it's not like Wonwoo eats a lot every day. He can go on a water diet. He mocked as he opened the refrigerator door only to find out Vernon is right...oh no. They don't even have the water anymore!?
Well...he blames their dormitory for giving them the smallest fridge in the world for two people.
Okay, so his mission to get the food is started. Wonwoo quickly changed his clothes, put on a hat, collected his courage, and decided to step outside of the room.
He looks left and right of the corridor as soon as he opened the door. Okay, no sign of Mingyu or even his friends.
Good, just here from Convenient store, Wonwoo. It's only 20 minutes in total. You can do this.
Until now, everything seems normal. He reached to convenient store safely without any disturbance and he is now on the way back. He did meet Chan but not Mingyu. It's not like Mingyu wants to meet him anyway... So, he is safe.
Well, that's what he thought...until he felt a forceful grip on his wrist.
"Ahh!" Wonwoo is too scared to open his eyes. He was pulled into a small lane between the buildings. Oh god, stepping outside of the room sure is not a good idea. Is he being robbed?
He closed his eyes shut praying the robber took his food only. That's all he has though...
His eyes were shut but he could feel a breath taken so close to his cheeks as the grip on his hand went softer.
"Can you at least open your eyes? I am not going to bite you."
Wait...this voice. He flinched when a familiar hand touches his cheeks...Mingyu? When he slowly opens his eyes, there he saw the taller hovering on top of him, trapped him between the wall and that broad chest of his... A familiar situation again.
"Mingyu..."
"Until when are you planning to stay away from me?" Mingyu said as he stepped forward, making their faces closer like the night they kissed. His tongue got tied, losing a word to speak...
Wonwoo cannot stay closer to Mingyu. He cannot even understand why Mingyu keeps doing this to him. Did he miss the signs? The signs of Mingyu rejecting him... For all he knows, if Mingyu keeps doing like this, his moving-on process will get slower or worse, everything will go back to square one again. And he hates that square one. The worst place ever to stay in.
"Wonwoo..." Mingyu called his name. "Can I at least see your face?" Mingyu grabbed his chin and pulls closer, now they are only one breath away.
Now he becomes sweet again, unlike in the pizza place that they fought. Oh, that is right...Wonwoo is more of an ally to Mingyu. If it wasn't for the deal that we make... Mingyu's voice is repeating in his head.
"Why? So that you could punch me?" he mocked.
"What?"
"You were good to me because of the deal we made right? Alright...if hitting me makes you feel better, do it." Wonwoo did not even know he could be this bold to say things at Mingyu but sure, he needs to face rejection from the taller anyway, might as well get a fist on his cheek.
"Wonwoo..." Mingyu's eyes shift from his eyes and stare at his lips and move back again only to look deeper into his eyes. "...I am sorry. I didn't mean to say that to you."
It is hard to break eye contact when Mingyu is holding his cheeks. Things are getting confusing. Wonwoo does not like it.
"Never mind...I will just go." Wonwoo pushes those strong arms and decided to walk away from the taller.
"Wait!" Mingyu's voice is followed by his hand holding Wonwoo's wrist again. Mingyu touching his hands, or his cheeks never make things easier for Wonwoo.
"Are you really trying to move on?" Mingyu asked.
Honestly, Wonwoo feels frustrated. Wonwoo was the first one to fall. Wonwoo was the first one to get hurt. And here Mingyu is, asking him if he is actually trying to move on.
Wonwoo turned to Mingyu and said "Yes, Mingyu. I am. Why are you even asking this if you are rejecting me?"
"Wonwoo, I am n-"
"You like Jeonghan. I know." He pushes Mingyu away. "I have seen you two that night. And I know you like him. And yes, I was in love with you. How stupid I am to fall in love with you when I know you hated me from the start. So, don't worry, alright? I am moving on."
He brushes his hair in frustration. He picks up his bag like how he picks up the pieces of heart clobbered on the ground.
"But..." Mingyu said. "But...i don't love him. Why do think I love Yoon Jeonghan?"
Wait what?... Wonwoo looks at Mingyu, confused with what the taller is saying.
"I don't love him." there goes Mingyu saying it again. "If you were talking about the night after the exam, we were talking about his crush, Seungcheol hyung."
Oh.
"B-but you two were standing so close." Wonwoo frowns as he speaks.
"That's because he wants it to be a secret. And why did you think I hate you?" Mingyu steps closer to him, dangerously closing the gap between them.
"B-because...I know you hate me." Wonwoo hates it when he stutters every time Mingyu gets closer to him. He tries to push away Mingyu again, but it is just a failed attempt when he was already trapped between the wall and Mingyu's arms.
Not again.
You see, this is why it is confusing for Wonwoo. Mingyu keeps doing all these things as if Wonwoo is the one he is in love with.
He looked up as he heard a chuckle from Mingyu.
"Do you know you are dumb?" Wow...see, Mingyu is insulting him as soon as he finishes those sweet acts.
"What?"
"But you know, It's okay. You can be very dumb sometimes..." Wonwoo watches Mingyu smile as his hand softly caress his face and fingers rest on his lips "...but that's cute."
Wonwoo's eyes widened from what Mingyu just said. "What are you doing?" he said turning his face to the other side avoiding those breaths of Mingyu brushing against his skin. Mingyu smells as fresh as always. Not good, Wonwoo. Not good.
"Can I see you tomorrow night...at the movies?"
"No, I am not going..." Wonwoo's attempt of telling him was cut short as Mingyu's lips were pressed on his forehead. Wonwoo could feel a heat passing through his face and the whole body was stiff.
"I will see you at the movies," Mingyu whispers firmly as If he is sure Wonwoo will show up before he kisses Wonwoo's cheek. Then the shorter was pulled into the hug. Warm. So, warm that Wonwoo could just melt right here. But no, he can't get comfortable. None of this makes sense.
"I... I gotta go." before Mingyu could kiss his other cheek, Wonwoo run away.
He hides his smile as his fingers follow around the touches Mingyu made across his skin...Maybe leaving his room once in a while wasn't a bad idea after all...
