Being with the leader of the Autobots came with quite a few issues. You were an automatic target from the Deceptions, more than any other bot. Megatron knew how much Optimus cared for you, so knowing that, by taking you he gained sufficient bait. Bait that might be too much for Optimus to handle thinking through a plan carefully enough. Knowing you were in danger was always on Optimus' mind, but he never thought that Megatron would actually capture you one day. When it did happen, a new rage sparked inside the Autobot leader. It overshadowed the kindness towards Megatron, thinking he was on the wrong path. All thoughts of saving the silver mech left his mind when he was you, bleeding and beaten.
