"Can you maybe not mention the werewolf part?" Spencer said as she stood outside the burrow, on the phone with her grandfather.
"Why?"
"Because he doesn't know I know" she replied.
"Lies are the foundation of a relationship" he said disapprovingly.
"Just- por favor?"
(please?)
"Ok" he sighed.
"Thank you"
"I'm almost there- I'll call you when I'm outside"
"Ok" she replied before hanging up.
She took off the muffliato around her and walked back into the burrow.
"We really wouldn't mind if he had dinner with us Spencer" Molly said from the kitchen.
"Leave her alone, love" Arthur replied from the living room.
"I'm just saying" she shrugged.
"I mind" she answered. "I mind if he has dinner with us" she looked at Molly.
Spencer shook her head, "he just wants to talk to Remus about school and stuff" she added.
"What are we eating honey" Arthur walked beside Spencer, wrapping his arm around her.
Spencer loved when he did that.
When he stepped in and changed the subject because Molly wouldn't get the hint.
Spencer smiled at Arthur before going upstairs to her room.
She walked in finding Remus with two ties in his hand, placing them on his shirt and seeing which one looks better.
"You don't even pick ties for me" Spencer said as she sat down on her bed.
"Yes I do" he shook his head.
Spencer chuckled once she remembered her favorite tie.
"You know what I mean" she smiled.
"Help me" he turned around.
"The grey one" she pointed with her chin.
"Are you setting me up for failure?" he asked.
"No I think you look lovely in grey" she shook her head.
"Is it that I look lovely or is it the fact that it looks similar to the one you like?" he smirked.
"I dunno" she shrugged.
"I'm wearing the other one- I don't want to think about that while having dinner with your grandfather" he shook his head chuckling, heading to the mirror.
"But what if I did?" she walked behind him.
"Please don't" he shook his head.
"Why"
"Because you know I'll do anything you asked me to" he admitted.
"I do" she rolled her eyes and turned around, beginning to change.
Remus smiled to himself as he looked at her through the mirror.
He walked up to her once her shirt was off, running his finger across the scars on her arm. His fingers moved down, going inside her pants and tracing the ones in her hips.
Spencer exhaled, not knowing she was holding her breath.
She looked up at him, staring longingly into his eyes.
Her gaze turned to her phone, which sat on the dresser, once it rang.
Remus cleared his throat and stepped back.
"Hi" she spoke into the phone.
"Yeah give us a second" she nodded.
Remus smiled as she continued to speak.
"Mmh" she added. "Ok" she said before hanging up.
"He's here" she placed her phone down.
Remus walked toward her, holding her arms.
Spencer took a deep breath, holding him as well.
"You look very pretty" she whispered.
Remus kissed her forehead, "as do you my love" he whispered.
Spencer smiled, "let's go" she nodded.
──────⊱⁜⊰──────
"Marte- you look lovely" her grandfather spoke as she exited the car.
(Mars)
"Thanks" she smiled.
As they walked to the restaurant Remus opened the door for them, winking at Spencer. She blushed as she continued walking.
Her grandfather led them to a table and ordered their food. She didn't say anything about this, as she was trying to have a nice evening.
"So," he intertwined his own fingers, "how did you two meet" he asked.
"Spencer worked in a cafe during the summer and," Remus nodded, "noticed I had no idea what to order" he chuckled.
"She helped me and got off work- I thought I wouldn't see her again. Then I went for a walk at the beach and there she was... sleeping" he smiled.
"She thought I was some murderous stalker or something" Remus spoke, they all chuckled.
"Not a stalker... just a murderer" she piped in chuckling.
"And how do you see each other with her in school?" he asked before taking a sip from his wine.
"Remus works near my school" Spencer replied.
"And what do you do?"
"He owns a bookstore" Spencer answered.
"Ah- you're a book worm too" he chuckled.
"Guilty" Remus nodded awkwardly.
"So how is business?"
"Um- good yeah you know? Not much going on at the moment" he nodded.
"Right" he smiled.
"Yeah so during the weekends we go out... occasionally on a weekday" Spencer spoke.
"Mm" he nodded.
"Yep" she replied.
"So you can also do... magic?" he whispered the last part.
"Yes" Remus chuckled. "Though when we first met neither of us knew"
"But you knew her age" he asked absentmindedly.
Once he realized he looked up at Spencer, "Sorry- it just-"
"It's okay" she awkwardly nodded.
"Erm- no actually I didn't know how old she was. I actually told her that we couldn't see each other once I realized" he nodded.
"And now?" he asked.
"Well your granddaughter is very persistent" he chuckled.
"Here we are" a waitress said as she brought their food to the table.
"And what do you do, sir?" Remus asked.
"Well- I'm a business man. I own multiple establishments" he nodded, ignoring their past conversation.
"Right, of course" Remus nodded.
"Spencer do you have any plans after graduation" her grandfather asked.
"Not sure" she picked at her food.
"Do you know she's a teachers assistant" Remus said.
"No" he looked at her.
"Yeah- she's great. He's a good friend of mine" he smiled.
"This is so boring- I'm glad I'm not alive so I don't have to go through this" Emily spoke from beside her grandfather.
Spencer cleared her throat, taking a sip from her wine.
"Yeah" she nodded. "One of my teachers said I could work there after I graduate" she smiled.
"But I don't know- maybe I want to travel or do something else" she shrugged.
"Mm" he replied. "What is something else" he asked.
"Dunno? Get married? Have babies?"
Remus choked on his wine while her grandfather had a not so happy look on his face.
"Kidding" she laughed. "Jesus Remus relax" she patted his back.
"So you want kids?"
"I don't know- if I do not yet" she answered.
"Right" her grandfather nodded. "And you?" he asked Remus.
"Oh- uh-" he faced Spencer. "If I do not yet" he repeated her answer, facing her grandfather.
"Mm"
"Can you stop doing that?" she asked.
"Doing what?"
"Replying Mm" she said before taking a sip from her wine.
"Spencer, it's okay" Remus whispered.
"It's not- we're here to have a nice evening," she shook her head, "and all you're doing is judging" she put her glass down.
"I'm not judging" he said calmly.
"Please," she rolled her eyes, "my mother is your spitting image" she finished.
He sighed, "you're my spitting image."
Spencer glared at him. "That's how I know you're judging"
He pursed his lips before clearing his throat.
"So... you already have a son?" he asked Remus.
"N-no" he shook his head.
"Who was the boy you guys brought?"
"Harry" Spencer answered.
"And who is he?"
"My brother"
"You don't have a brother" he shook his head.
"I do" she smiled. "And he's the sweetest kid ever... they all are" she added.
"Why do you do that?" he rolled his eyes.
"Do what?"
"Act like you have no other family" he replied.
Spencer sighed, "you don't want to get into this" she shook her head.
"I do, I've been wanting to talk about this" he nodded.
"Well I don't"
"Spencer maybe it'll do some good" Remus spoke beside her.
"Remus-"
"Maybe it will. Try... remember" he smiled.
Spencer turned from Remus to her grandfather, who was waiting for her to speak.
"I didn't have anyone when you left... I was all alone-"
"You were not alone" he rolled his eyes.
"I was!" she hit the table.
She sighed and put her head down.
"I was" she repeated. "and all I wondered was 'where is my grandfather' while I cried in my dark room" she added.
"Your mother thought it best if I stay away" he replied.
"Why" she looked up at him. "Why in the world would you even do that- I lost my sister-"
"I lost you" he said sadly.
"Yeah... and that's on you" she nodded. "So that's why I act like I have no other family... because I didn't have one to begin with" she said before sipping her wine.
The silence was loud.
"Ok now I'm interested" Emily spoke.
"Merlin" she shook her head.
"Will you ever forgive me?" he asked.
Spencer faced him, "I don't know" she whispered.
"You know... I saw you once" he nodded. "I went to your parents house to visit and you were there" he spoke.
"You were sleeping on the couch and if I remember correctly your parents weren't home" he added. "You had a record playing in the back... a book on your chest" he nodded again.
"I thought that was a dream" she said quietly.
"No" he shook his head.
Spencer cleared her throat before clutching Remus' hand. She ran her thumb over his knuckles.
"You're all I have" he shook his head. "And I know I'm not all you have... I know that" he nodded.
"Sabes que mi madre me culpa" she nodded.
(You know my mother blames me)
He nodded sadly.
Spencer shook her head.
She took a deep breath, looked at Remus, and smiled as she exhaled.
He smiled back, unsure of what she said.
"I wish I could eat... that looks good" Emily spoke.
Spencer chuckled.
"What?" her grandfather asked.
"Nothing" she smiled. "Nothing just... nothing" she shook her head.
"Right um- well I'd really like to be there. For you" he replied. "See you more" he nodded. "I just want to support you" he finished saying.
"and I know what you're going to say 'I can support myself' or something like that but, really, I want to- I have more money than I'd like" he added.
"Ok"
"Ok?"
"Ok" she nodded. "Remus has to use the bathroom" she spoke.
"I do?" he turned to Spencer.
"I do" he faced her grandfather once he understood her look.
"If you'd excuse me" he smiled before patting her thigh and leaving.
He walked to the bathroom, hanging out for a few minutes.
"Is this the line?" someone asked him.
"No- no you can- I'm just- no" he chuckled moving out of the way.
He stared at the wall for a couple more minutes.
Thinking about what Spencer had drunkenly told him.
I didn't know love meant asking your underage daughter to obliviate her twin sister from existence.
Did that have anything to do with her poem?
Was the person she was talking about... her mother?
It doesn't make any sense.
Year 5 was what she called it.
He wanted her to be happy, it was what she deserved... it's what he was going to do.
Remus lifted his head as an idea popped in.
"You know when I said you needed to use the bathroom I meant like 5 minutes... not 15" Spencer chuckled from beside him.
Remus turned to face her, "Has it been 15 minutes?"
"Yeah," she nodded, "what were you thinking about?"
"You" he smiled. "I'm always thinking about you" he kissed her.
Spencer stood on her toes, wrapping her arms around him.
"C'mon your food is getting cold" she got down.
Remus still had his arms wrapped around her.
"Remus?" she asked.
"Have I told you how lucky I am to have you?" he placed a curl behind her ear and placed his hand on her cheek.
"Never. Not once" she shook her head, trying to hide her giggle.
"Well I am" he nodded.
"I am too" she smiled. "Now let's go before he thinks we're doing something dirty" she chuckled while grabbing his hand and leading him back to the table.
