Hey everyone! Here is the next part to the story, sorry I took forever to update! Its been a busy and hectic holiday.

Excuse my grammar and everything else lol.

But enjoy!!!

Picture of Jack on the side :)

Valerie didn’t sleep that night, she continuously tossed and turned on her bed and then finally gave up the notion of sleep. Exhaustion tugged at her to close her eyes but frustration and anger battled against that idea and fueled her wakefulness.

She laid on the soft mattress in utter defeat and allowed her mind to wander to the argument she had earlier with Marcus. He was so damn stupid, he was so damn arrogant, he was so damn controlling. She just wanted to go back to her home to Ariana, Oliver, and Tyrell, especially back into the arms of Roland.

She didn’t know what time it was, there was no window to hear the birds or feel any warmth, she was trapped in a stone cage. Yes, she can unlock the door to the living area that is Marcus’ domain, but she didn’t want to run into him. The only sanctuary she has at the moment was in the room right next to him.

    Knock. Knock.

    Never mind.

“Catchman.” Marcus’ deep voice penetrated the wooden door. When he didn’t get an answer, he knocked on the doors again.

“What?” She bit out, not caring that she sounded a bit grouchy.

“Get out, I’m about to go on patrol, my second in command is here to watch you.” He said politely, however allowing a little tinge of authority in every word.

“Whatever, I’ll be out in a few.”

She heard his retreating footsteps and finally decided to get herself out of bed since it wasn’t like she was going to sleep anytime soon. She walked around the bed and maneuvered her way to the door, already having the layout of the room in her mind.

Not having an extra pair of clothes because she thought it would have been over the night before, Valerie grimaced as she couldn’t change her clothes. She could smell the sweat clinging to the fabric and she scowled at the odor.

Valerie unlocked the door and stepped into the living room area and quickly caught onto Marcus’ familiar scent and the musky smell of his second in command. She stood in front of her doorway and waited to be introduced.

His second-in-command whistled under his breath and Valerie could mentally see him eyeing her figure with his damn lustful eyes.

Marcus growled and that quickly shut the other male up. He turned his eyes towards the female in front of them and would have whistled too, she looked absolutely beautiful with her hair tousled wildly surrounding her heart shaped face, her lips just begging him to dominate them with his own.

“Jack, keep it in your pants. This is Miss Abigail Catchman.” He said gruffly, clearing his throat a few times to try and keep the lust out of his voice.

“Wish they told me I would be in the company of such beauty.” Jack said, his eyes twinkling with mischief and lust.

Valerie couldn’t see it but Marcus definitely could and he wanted nothing more than to tear Jack’s hazel eyes out and make him eat them.

“Pleasure to meet you too. But you don’t have to go so far as to compliment me.” She said, smiling coyly and giving off a flirtatious vibe.

“Its not a compliment, I merely speak of truth.”

Marcus narrowed his eyes at both of them but did not try to butt in knowing that it would cause some questions from Jack. But damn it, this was annoying! If Jack says one more thing and if Valerie continues to giggle like a high school girl getting asked out by her crush, then he will certainly explode and it won’t be pretty.

Valerie could feel the irritation rolling off of Marcus like a tidal wave but she chose to ignore it. Screw him and his jealousy. If he wanted her to stay in his damn room without telling her then this is a great payback.

Make him beg…whispered her wolf, happily glorifying in the new feeling of finally besting the male.

Don’t worry, he will be on his knees by the end of the day. Valerie reassured her.

Then she reached out and grabbed onto Jack’s arm, smiling up at him and lowering her lashes. She almost laughed hearing Marcus’ low growl.

“Why don’t you show me around, while we let Marcus work.” She said, her voice sultry, sending shivers up both males’ spines.

“My pleasure. See you later Marc.”

“Payback is a bitch.” Valerie whispered underneath her breath so that only Marcus could hear. Marcus’ breath hitched and he felt himself getting hard at her comment, being a mean bitch certainly turned him on.

With that the two left Marcus alone, closing the door behind them while laughing with one another. Valerie turned around briefly to give him a triumphant smile before turning her attention back to the asshole, Jack. Marcus closed his hand into a fist and slammed it into the wall closest to him, creating a 3 in hole before allowing himself to slow down his breathing. Then he started towards the bathroom for a cold shower to calm his raging erection.

    Damn her.

Valerie was bored. She stood there listening to Jack constantly telling her everything about the damn Alpha’s home which she already knew when she was a part of the pack. She plastered on a face that shown only intrigued and fascination with the occasional “ooh” or “ahh”, but internally she wanted to rip her ears off.

When he was about to take her to the 14th guest room, she put her foot down.

“Jack,” she said, adding a little extra haughtiness to her voice, “how about going to town and getting some supplies for my pack.”

“Sure!” He cheerfully started guiding her to the front entrance. He turned to look at the angel on his arms and couldn’t help but drool a little.

She felt his eyes on her and she started to clear her throat, hoping that that would stop him from looking at her like a piece of fine ass.

“So, how long have you lived here for?” She asked, hoping to the break the silence and his attention from her.

“All my life.” He answered quickly.

    She knew that.

“And how did you become second in command to the second in command?” She asked, trying to gouge some answers out of him.

“Well you wouldn’t believe this but I’m friends with Magnus and Marcus. I mean we are like best friends!” Jack said happily.

“Really? That must be cool.” Valerie said, giving him a small smile.

She couldn’t help but feel warmth from his comment, maybe because she never found friends like that in the pack or because she never really talked to him like this before, whatever it was she liked it. She needed it, she needed a connection with the pack, she needed to make an ally. Jack seems like the perfect candidate.

“Heck yes! I’ve known those two all my life!” He grinned down at the female.

“That must be really nice to work with your friends. Huh? So what do you do around here?”

“Yeah it is but you seem to be asking a lot of questions.” Jack frowned a little and Valerie knew that she had to think of something quick before he blocked up.

“I’m just curious, I mean I don’t come from a big pack so we work differently than yours.” She could still feel him doubting her, so she added. “I’m merely trying to learn how a big pack work so that when my other pack joins with our sister pack I won’t be so lost and stuff.”

“Hmm, well then if that’s the case,” Jack’s small wall crumbled and Valerie internally did a happy dance. “I just step in when Marcus is sick or he needs something. Which is never! That man doesn’t take a break, he’s such a hard-ass.” Jack scoffed under his breath.

“That’s interesting. Yeah he seems like a strict leader.” She whispered, waiting for a response from her companion.

“Yeah! He’s suppose to be. That’s what he was to be.”

“But I thought Magnus was the Alpha.” She brushed a strand away from her face.

“Magnus? Are you kidding me? He’s just a dog for the councilmen to pull along. We all tolerate Magnus, but Marcus is the brains and brawns of the pack. He’s not weak like Magnus.”

Valerie could hear the pride and respect resonating from his tone towards Marcus.

“Wait! Don’t tell anyone I said that!” Jack quickly covered up his mistake.

“Because it’s treason to talk about your Alpha like that?”

“Well no shit!” Jack looked down at the girl with utter fear. She felt it through the increasing rhythm of his heart.

She smiled up at him and made a motion of zipping her mouth and throwing away the key.

“Then I promise, no worries here.”

“Phew, I hope I don’t have to worry about anything.”

Valerie gave him a warm smile before patting his arm.

“Don’t worry about it, let’s get those supplies to put it out of our mind.”
